Bottiglia. Il gusto al naso riconosce affumicato e orzo tostato. L'intensità olfattiva è elevata e la continuità olfattiva è apprezzabile. Il cappello di schiuma ha una buona tenuta, è persistente e voluminosa. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine e anche nel liquido la grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. La carbonazione è vivace. Il colore è scuro impenetrabile. Il corpo è strutturato ma duttile e apre a nuove sfaccettature. Il dolce è medio in buon equilibrio con l'amaro medio. L'intensità gustativa è elevata. La costanza gustativa è buona e lunga. Il gusto è godereccio. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono di pronta beva. Il finale è pulito e asciutto. Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di miele, cioccolato, frutta secca, agrumi e affumicato.

Can. Nose is smokey, malty, meaty, hint of spice. Taste is smoke, umami, meaty, slight hint of spice, chocolate, toast, nutty, touch of licorice. Smooth. Nice.

Cask at Southampton Arms. Dark brown with small golden head. Aroma is smoke and roastiness. Bit of dark fruit lurking somewhere in the background and a touch of coffee. Taste is very malty, some bitterness, not so much smoke as in the aroma. Not bad.

Negra con espuma beige de corta duración. Aroma a maltas asadas y granos de café. abor muy similar al aroma con algo de presencia a regaliz también. Final ligeramente picante, el chili se nota muy sutilmente.

330ml bottle at home. Pours opaque brown black with a frothy off white head, bit of a gusher. Aroma: roasted malts, light smoke, caramel, coffee, charcoal. Taste: roasted malts, light smoke, earth, ash, caramel. Medium bodied with frothy carb & a dry bittersweet finish.

Cask @ Salopian. Pours dark, small tan head. Aroma is reassuringly smokey, woody, malty. Taste is smooth, smokey with a distinct chilli kick that provides a welcome spicy warmth. Some added meatiness in the malt. Really very good.
