Welcome to the world of Cocoa Psycho, a liquid dimension where pure indulgence reigns.

This Imperial Stout borrows from the voluptuary decadence of 18th Century Russia, with its extravagantly smooth blend of crushed coffee beans, cacao nibs and dark malts.

Dig past the infusions of vanilla pods and toasted oak chips and eventually you’ll come face to face with the madness required to make this beer: a kind of depraved logic that would make Rasputin himself proud.

To fully unleash the aromas and bittersweet luxury of this stout we recommend drinking it from a stemmed beer glass before taking a sledgehammer to a Faberge egg.

Malts: Extra Pale, Wheat, Cara, Smoked, Black and Roasted Barley
Hops: Cascade, Fuggles and Goldings

Bottle from Brewdog, Leeds. Just as I’m about to write how this beer is full of coffee and cocoa, I realise I had a rubbish nights sleep, after drinking this last off! That’ll explain that then... worth it though..

Black. Dark black (if there is such a thing). Here be dragons...

The aroma is subtle cooking chocolate. The taste is bittersweet is a pure alcohol haze. Full and syrupy on the palette. A wonderful experience.

Prototype bottle from Brew dog shop. Nigh on black pour with a muddy brown head. Nose of dark malts, booze and choc. The cocoa and coffee comes right atcha’ in the flavour. Slipped down very smoothly. Tasty beer. Dug it..

330ml bottle. Pitch black colour with small to average, firm, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, dark brown head. Rich, moderately sweet dark malty aroma has notes of treacle, coffee, cocoa, dark and milk chocolate, hints of vanilla, oaky background-ish overtones, hop tributes a spicy green onion touch. Taste is dry to bitter and minimally tart, notes of oak, leather, roast, roasty dark malty basis, bitter chocolate, coffee. Relatively active, present, prickling carbonation for an Impy Stout, lasting bitter finish combines bitter hop and bitter, roasty, burnt malt; oily texture, sticky palate. Very rich and complex, oscillating with every sip

On tap at BrewDog Stockholm. Black with a thick, creamy tan head. A lot of dark chocolate and roasted malt in this one. Also espresso, some oak, vanilla and light notes of "earth". Thick with a long aftertaste. A tasty one.

beautiful appearance of almost black colour and 2 inch dark brown head (which disappear in some minutes leaving back a brown layer); aroma and taste of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and some alcohol; really good stout.
