Welcome to the world of Cocoa Psycho, a liquid dimension where pure indulgence reigns.

This Imperial Stout borrows from the voluptuary decadence of 18th Century Russia, with its extravagantly smooth blend of crushed coffee beans, cacao nibs and dark malts.

Dig past the infusions of vanilla pods and toasted oak chips and eventually you’ll come face to face with the madness required to make this beer: a kind of depraved logic that would make Rasputin himself proud.

To fully unleash the aromas and bittersweet luxury of this stout we recommend drinking it from a stemmed beer glass before taking a sledgehammer to a Faberge egg.

Malts: Extra Pale, Wheat, Cara, Smoked, Black and Roasted Barley
Hops: Cascade, Fuggles and Goldings

Bottle from BrewDog online. Jet black body with the darkest brown head I’ve ever seen on a beer. Very faint lacing. Aroma of espresso, cocoa powder, vanilla, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Flavour of burnt toast, coffee, brambles, brown sugar, prunes and bitter dark chocolate. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation. This is rich, well balanced and very drinkable.

330ml bottle. Pours jet black in colour, foamy dark brown head that diminishes and aroma of rich chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Taste is smokey, woody vanilla, roast malt, sweet chocolate, with cocoa and coffee notes and some spicy bitterness. Creamy mouth feel, full bodied, soft carbonation, warming boozy dry finish. Quite drinkable.

Bottle from Pibar, Lausanne, batch 049 bb 10-03-14
This ought to be one of the blackest beers ever had, with the darkes brown head, generous and creamy. The arom aof roasted malts is quite sharp, it reminds me of some Swiss Dunkel from the past, and there is some chocolate and cardboard; glue too; but there are also some nice spices. Good body strength, the mouthfeel is quite lean, and a bit overcarbonated; very strong flavor of roasted malts, then very dark chocolate, evident coffee; quite strong bitterness; it’s a bit salty, with some liquorice, and the alcohol warmth is well perceived.
Very good.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 10-03-2014.

13/V/13 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ Dieter's place - BB: 10/III/14 (2013-468)

Black beer, big dark brown to gray creamy head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: mocha, coffee, dried fruits, vanilla, earthy, lots of chocolate. MF: soft carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: chocolate, dark caramel, chocolate milk, mocha, vanilla, pretty sugary. Aftertaste: mocha, cocoa powder, bitter dark chocolate, bit of alcohol, sourish touch, caramel. Flavour bomb! Good think we could share this with 3.
