In order to survive in the 14th century one needed to be a force to be reckoned with. In Brittany, Spain and France this knight proved his mettle in battle. This tart blueberry ale was brewed in one of our 3,000 gallon foeders in his honour.

Bottle. Light hazy purple liquid with small to medium white head. Aroma of red berries, lingonberries, lemon, light apples, apple skin and grain. Taste is light sweet and medium sour with notes of lingonberries, light and acetic acid, wood and grain. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty nice!

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a tulip. Clear dark red with smal pinkish off white head. Aroma is tart with some red wine, medium body, medium carbonation, and good thick small bubble lacing. Taste is tart, red wine, some oak, and hints of blueberry.

Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session 3, 02/05/2015. Clear cherry red with crimson edgework. Nose is tarte berry, damp wood, straw, raspberry pips, funk. Taste comprises blueberry, light acidity, damp hay, funky, soured berry mash, raspberry, tarte red grape, light piss. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough sour.

Tap@CBC 2015, Red Session - pours reddish amber with tiny head. Sour fruity aroma and taste, acidic, grapes, light vinegar, berry fruits, light floral, tart on the palate, dry tart finish.

On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends, København. Pours hazy dark red, with a small creamy head. Aroma is tart fruity, with raspberries and dark forest berries, as well as lactic acid and funky notes of brett. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sour, with lactic acid and tart berry notes with raspberries, as well as red currants. Lingering dry fruity sourness throughout the finish.

[4/28/15] Draught at Mikkeller & Friends in Copenhagen. Nice deep red, a bit purple color. Lovely aroma of blueberries, lacto and funk. Sour flavor, lactic and funky, with some berries. Medium-bodied.
