Bottle shared at home. Slight hazy orange golden with fizzy white head. Sour grains and some lemon, light rubber, diesel fumes, hay, wet socks, funk. Light sour. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Decent gueuze, but slightly too much rubber for me (like some other Boon lambics).

37.5 cl, best before 06.10.2031. Fresh and sourish typical nose, hints of horse blanket. Sourish-sharp beginning. Quite intense sour, hints of fruit, very dry. Not too deep. Plank/shelf in a way. Quite strange but nice. Dry sourish horse blanket in the aftertaste. Round, nice, sour.

Super hazy orange and copper coloured body with a thin half a centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of super sour grapes, wheat, yeast, coriander seed, funk, pears, apples and more sour notes - this is exactly what you hope for when you have a gueuze. Medium-bodied; Assertive sour grapes up front with a deep yeast and citrus note and a lot of sour funk that shows through very nicely. Aftertaste shows a lot of complexity with a ton of dry notes, some hay, grass and coriander seed, but also a touch of sweetness to accompany the sourness that permeates. Overall, a very nice gueuze with a lot of character and spice, but exactly what I was expecting. Naturally, a tough beer style to go up against, but a very nice representation in my book and I definitely wish I could get this whenever I wanted! I sampled this 37,5 cL split bottle purchased from Delices and Caprises in Bruxelles, Belgium on 19-August-2013 for €6,00 sampled at home in Washington on 27-July-2014 on my last day (of two) of unemployment, before starting my next job.

Bottle at DHVL. 2000 vintage. Clear deep golden liquid with medium white head. Aroma of barnyard, cellar, bread and feces. Smell like shit, literally. Tate is light sweet and light sour with notes of barnyard, earth and raw sugar. Medium bodied with no carbonation. Really bad... Probably way too old.

2000 Vintage. 375mL bottle at DHVL, pours a clear pale golden with a medium white head. Aroma brings out stale wet wood and light funk. Flavour is exactly the same, with lots of wet wood, cardboard, and light funk. I wonder how this was when it was new - the cardboard comes out a lot, though it doesn't exactly taste stale. Good stuff, but unexciting gueuze.

Older bottle, 75CL champagne size. Pour was great, 2 finger thick frothy head, muted orange appearance, minor haziness but not bad. Nose was dry, crisp, lemon grass and tea. Taste was quite acidic, some acetone and leather / shoe polish. Maybe just slightly too sweet but I finished my glass and would drink it again.
