Pours a bright light orange color. Not too sour smell. Taste is sour and dry. Balance is good and palate pleasant for this kind of beer.

2010 bottle from Kris Wines. First Thing- I am more than slightly worried that the ingredients list includes two E-numbers and apple juice in a gueuze. Anyway... it pours clear golden yellow, with a thick fizzy white head and moderate carbonation. The nose is apple, pear, melon and unfortunately urine! The taste is briefly tart, but then slides down the slippery slope of artificial sweetness. There is tangy green apple, melon, pear, white sugar and lemon in the finish. Too watery and too sweet for a gueuze. No thanks.

33cl bottle of the tradition with a best before of 23/09/11. Not sure why a gueuze needs apple juice, sugar, food coloring and antioxidants (according to the label), but any way. Completely clear golden hue with a large, rocky white head that slowly fades. Some lace. Aromas of apple, sweetness, light urine, lacto, wet leaves, a hint of funk. Humidor. Some honey and esters. A ton of apple juice. Minimal malt notes. Flavors of a hint of funk, a lot of sweetness, apple juice. Slightly rancid flavors. Sweet, urine, very slight acidity. A hint of funk. Wet leaves. A waste of a beer with the sweeteners. Quite fizzy. A hint of a soda like residual sweetness. Such a waste.

11.2 oz. bottle, pours clear golden with an off-white head. Aroma and flavour of sour fruits, acidity, slight sweetness, with the acidity lingering. Not the best example of a gueuze.

Clear golden with a short-lived white head. Aroma is light sour - barnyard. Flavor is rather sweet and light sour. Light dry and light acidic finish. Sugar has been added, and I prefer lambics without added sugar, but it retains a certain balance. 010311

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Hazy golden, brief head. Sweet and dull, with very mild appley acidity and not much life. Complete lack of depth, not much gueuze character remaining.

Slightly hazy dull gold with an off white head. High bead. Aroma of mellow and tart apples, rotting hay. Then a sugary sweet taste with a little cidery tartness behind it. Dryish finish with a little astringency. The aroma promised something more interesting, but even though it’s too sweet it’s still charming and enlivening.

Bottle. Clear golden with a small white head. Sweet and rather sour aroma of citrus and apples. The taste was quite mild for being a gueuze, drinkable but not that exciting. Something for a beginner?
