Swan Song at Bruce’s. Opaque dark brown beer, small cream colour head. Decent piney nose. Palate is airy and pretty dry. Mild fine carbonation. Papery dark malts. Light roast. Bitterish dark chocolate. Mild pine and a little citrus. Dry and much to papery. Pretty disappointing.

Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours dark brown with a decent tan head. The nose is sweet, juicy, dark fruits, pine, toasty brown sugary, plum and roast. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, earth, paper, lemon rind, pithy, soda water, pepper and generic citrus with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Watery and wishy washy on the taste. Not sure on this one...

Well how do I rate this one. To call it an BIPA is an insult for both. That will give it a very low rating. If I got this on a British pub. I would have thought it was a really nice stout. And then an ok rating. Coffee, roasted and some licorice. A bit thin mouth feel.

Bottle split at JF’s, thanks to he, 20/08/14. Light black/murky dark mahoganies with a big old frothy tan covering of bubbles. Nose is earthy hops, light cocoa, pine, dark orange marmalade. Taste comprises light spice, light hop presence, faint liqourice, dark berry fruit. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness. Pretty so so CDA, drinkable but bland and lacks somewhat in the basic qualities for the style.
