Bottle at 1900 Art Cafe. Med-thin body, med-light carbonation, thick silky head. Med-high bitterness, nicely roasty. Low sweetness, pretty dry, even though there is a med-light whiskeyish woody element with a bit of caramel. Good one, drinkable.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a lacing, roughish, beige head. Some roast and licorice in the nose with very faint notes of oak. Medium body, slightly sweet roast and chocolate. I get some faint oakiness but not particularly whiskey. A bit of a letdown. 221123

Bottle. Dark brown body with ruby highlights and a thin beige head. Patchy lacing. Aroma of wood and cranberry. Flavour of caramel and coffee with a subtle whiskey note. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Simple and roasted.

330ml bottle from B&M Bargains, Stockton. Black colour, bubbly tan foam head and aroma of roasty malt, oats, tar, chocolate, caramel. Taste is roasted, malty, chocolate, oat hint, ashy, with earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, roast bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

500 ml can from Home Bargains, High Wycombe, Bucks. A very dark brown coloured pour with a huge beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel, vanilla aroma and taste. Not overly complex but it's fine.
