Originally released a for the Chesterfield CAMRA festival. Renamed as Wild Raven in 2013 due to another beer going by the name "Raven" elsewhere The recipe for the brew came from James Kemp who used Maris Otter, Black Patent and Chocolate malt along with Nelson Sauvin, Centennial and Sorachi hops. The beerhas bitter ness and hop character and plenty of malt flavours to give it complexity.

Aroma of fruity hops and coffee on the nose, well balanced and intriguing. Has a fine creamy head and a burgundy-black body. Flavour is nice soft coffee notes with fruity hop hints. Nice on the mouth and refreshing. It’s well balanced and highly drinkable.

30.05.2015, tap @ HaandFestival:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral, hay, dried grain, weeds, dark malts, wet hops, hints of sulfur. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, weeds, hay, cereal, grass, grain, bark, dark malts. Longlasting bitterness, harsh watery mouthfeel. Black IPA they say? Meh...

Pours a really dark brown with reddish hues sitting under an ample head of off white foam.
Big notes of pine and roasted malt in the smell. Some chocolate of the dark variety.
Tastes even better than it smells. I get some pineapple out of the hops that are used.
Gloriously smooth on the palate and very easy drinking.
A marvelous brew!
