Bottle from the De Molen Shop, shared with Slothez. Deep dark brown pour with a generous creamy tan head. Some vagueish roasted coffee and malts, plus dark chocolate in the nose. Similar taste with some dark fruits evident. A little tartness, then dried out towards the finish. Not bad, if a bit underwhelming. A nod towards the communists perhaps ?

Bottle, kindly shared by abemorsten. ABV is 5.2%. Apparently matured on toasted oak chips. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Big to moderate beige head. Nice aroma of mildly roasted malts, wood and ashes. The flavour is dry, oaky and moderately roasty. A slight acidity in the finish.

Draught at the new Bishops Arms in Malmö (huge thanks to Maja regarding this one!) Poured an opaque brown body with a slightly off white head. Alcohol in the aroma (what the?), a little chocolate, sweet. Taste... multivitamin candy, fruity, sweet and again notes of alcohol. Some coffee too. Unbalanced maybe. Far from their best I’m afraid.

On tap @ In De Wildeman. Almost black color, lots of yeast. Off white head with big bubbles. Aroma of roasted/burned malt, fruity. Flavor is very roasted, almost burned, bitter, a bit acidic. Medium bodied. Lots of roast in the finish, bitter. No crowd pleaser, quite harsh.
Retry from a fairly young bottle (2 yo). Still mucho roast but also lots of dark chocolate and some fruit in the aroma. Flavour is light sweet, chocolate, roast. Quite high carbonation. Finishes with roast and chocolate. Much better and a good example of the style.

Bottle: Deep amber coloured, hazy, fluffy - slowly collapsing - tanned head; sweetish-fruity nose with a mineralic-roasty touch; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium-bodied, soft; drier fruity and toasty finish with a certain bitterness in the aftertaste. Good, but not overwhelming...

Bottle, 33cl. A dark reddish brown beer topped by a small beige head. Dark chocolate, coffee, pepper and canned peaches on the nose. The flavor has lots of cold coffee, and there’s also a touch of raw potatoes in the back. Medium body, heavy on the carbonation. A nice beer, but nothing more. It starts nice but turns out to be rather ordinary, even though there’s some unusual aromas and flavors in this porter. 100115

(bottle, 75cl) Hazy, dark brown colour with a big but collapsing brown-coloured frothy head. Sweet and roasty malty aroma with notes of mocha beans, dark chocolate, also hints of liquorice and a distinctive touch of berry-fruits. Moderately sweet flavour with delicately roasty bitterness, medium bodied with a almost lively carbonation. Roasty malty taste with notes of chocolate, a tinge of coffee and an underlying fruitiness; dry-ish, slightly fruity and roasty bitter finish and noble, almost piney hops retronasally (rülps!). Uncommon Belgian-style Porter. 22.VI.10

Bottled. A hazy dark brown beer with a thin light tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and spices - especially cloves, but also with lighter notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of vegetables, roasted malt, caramel, and spices, leading to a dry finish.
