Bottle from Galeria in Cologne. Cloudy, bright yellow with a tall, fine head. Lemony, malty nose, bready, some honey, rather kolsch-like but with some American hops. bready, malty flavor, sweet and heavy, with lemony hop character, slightly tart, flavorful but heavy and a bit cloying and doting. I am glad that they are trying something like this, but like lots of traditional European brewers trying something more American, they don’t have it down. Not bad, though. Think of it as a hybrid at it is quite interesting.

50cl bottle, pick up while visiting Bierzwerg bottle shop, where it pours with an opaque gold body with thin copper hues and supporting a near white head of foam. The aroma offers up some malt sugary sweetness, dry cracker notes, a sliver of honey and then faint possibly floral hops well of in the background . . . or maybe not, it is vague and faint. The taste begins with malt sweetened modest hop notes that seem to be a mix of floral hops, soft cantaloupe cotton candy and a mineral sensation. A mild hop bitterness shows up midway before a bit of grainy maltiness helps take this to the finish. Alright stuff but a bit on the sweet side overall.

0,5 l bottle, 14. May 2013. Hoppy and mystically tinged label. Hazy like a Helles Weizen, fine creamy head. Citra hops on the nose. In the mouth a surprise, Citra hop and a lot of malt and hay. Later light roasted malt with chewing gum on a mild level. Saturates quickly. Not a beer for every evening but an interesting variation from Gaffel.

Thanks to Willems Urenkel for that one. Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass light, zippy, nice head. Starts wonderful mild-hoppy, fine grasy notes, flowery, modest sweet. Spicy background with fruity hints of lemon. Well balanced finish, quite drinkable. Nice!

50cl bottle courtesy of thirstybird @ RBBSG II. BB 04-02-2014.

Courtesy of ThirstyBird. Thx! 50 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBSG II. BBF 04/02/2014. Hazy bright citrus appearance with a white head. Smell is sweet citrus, lots of it, fake, lemon soda-like, label lists the use of citra but this is very weird. Taste is cheap lemonade blended with some bitter lemon peel, lemongrass, bitter spices, light hay. Fizzy and light body. Bit like a better version of a radler. Has the potential of being very refreshing.

50cl. Thanks to ThirstyBird for sharing. Nose is citrus with a hint of malt. very fresh! The beer starts fresh and light. Nice for a hot summer day. The beer is full-bodied, nice bready aromas fit good with a slight citrus-aroma. The aftertaste is not too long, but fresh and light. --> a great and aromatic summer beer!! 12/13/12/12
