Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2012, London. Pours rich black with a fine, creamy head. Loads of peat in the nose, some burnt grass. Big sweet flavor, super peaty with dark sugars, brown sugar. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Burnt earth finish, ultra peat character, more burnt grass, burnt toast. Quite a rabid, peat-laden fella here.

33cl Bottle from deeblo, thanks Bruce! Black colour, thin light brown head. Aroma of buttery popcorn, like a milk stout, peat, ash, hard roasted malts. Flavour is bitter roasted malts, peat, earth, ash, some dark fruits, bitter chocolate, popcorn, sour cream, bitter roasted finish. Medium to fullbodied, almost flat. Too bad of the butter notes, and could’ve used a bit more Caol Ila ageing imo. Nevertheless, really nice.

Bottled@chriso pre-gbbf shindig 2012. Black colour, small head. Aroma is mild vanilla, roasted malts, liquorice, some toffee and a bit ashy notes along with some whisky notes. Flavour is smooth liquorice, roasted malts, vanilla and some whisky notes. Wellbalanced and a real beauty when it comes to barrel aging.

Keg at CP&K. It pours jet black, with a thick, dark tan head. The nose is roasted malt, coffee, burnt tire, whisky, peat, smoke, sage and caramel. The taste is roasted malt, rich-roast coffee, whisky, smoke, dark fruit (cherry and blueberry), charcoal, meat, hint of vanilla, wood, alcohol warmth and salted liquorice, with a dry-roasted finish. Full body, full flavour, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Tasty stuff indeed, for me this is easily the better of the two barrel-aged version of KopiKat.
