Cask at In de Wildeman. The Golden Pride was beer of the month not too long ago, but that was the kegged version (are you reading this, my fellow Dutch raters? ;-) Clear copper amber colour, no head. Aroma of marmelade, bitter fruitcake, alcohol, white raisins, light spicy. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, marmelade, sweet alcohol, candied fruits, nice bitter hoppy finish with a little earthy liquorice root. Medium-bodied. Better than the kegged version.

Clear copper color, steady small off-white head. Fruity, sweetish aroma. Medium-bodied. Nutty, fruity, a bit sweetish caramel - fruit candy, alcohol. Light hoppyness. Very similar to some Vintage Ales, but not so complex.

(Cask at Kittys, 20120215) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was small and forthy. Aroma had malts, caramell and molasses. Palate was medium bodied and warming with low carbonation. Flavours were molasses, caramell, sweetness, hops, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was a bit harsh, quite sweet and a bit bitter. Quite harsh taste and altogether a bit disappointing.

Cask. Pours a cloudy opaque nutty brown with a tiny rough off-white head. Some phenols and oxidized nuttiness in the nose combined with warming alcohol. Quite full-bodied, sweet caramel and nuts, oxidization, solvents and a warming alcohol rounds this off. 050211
