This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love. October release.

Bomber from BBB63! Nose is piney, floral, citrusy hops; copper with a big straw head; flavor is mild hop bitterness, a light fruitiness, and some caramel; finish is slightly bitter. Good IPA but not great!

Outstanding — more complex, more balanced and more interesting than most IPAs. Small, off-white head atop a hazy light amber body. Big aroma of citrus, orange, grapefruit and lime. Notes of pine and pineapple. The flavor is light to moderately sweet, moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body with a sticky texture. Juicy mouthfeel, like drinking a citrus/orange juice cooler. Dry finish. Comfortable carbonation. Very drinkable.

22 oz. bottle from tjthresh. Pour is a beautiful orange copper with great layering and a perfect 2 inch off white head. The layering led to carbonation bubbles, which ended to a mostly clear beer. Aroma was present as soon as the top was popped, and is a nice fresh, citrusy sweet hop. Just a fully engaging nose. I haven’t had a sip yet, and I already love this beer. Taste is mostly the hop, with big hop initially focusing on the sweet ripe orange taste, yielding to some pine hop bitter in the middle and finishing with a very clean bitterness. This is pretty lopsided to the hops, but what do you expect from a harvest ale? I thought it showcased the freshness of the hops perfectly. Just delicious, thanks for giving me this one Tom!

Sampled from bottle, Nov. 2, ’07. yep, this is now in bottles as of yesterday! So there’s that same fresh catbox smell of green Pacific hops. Beyond that, I’d say it’s a fresh-hopped beer based on the pride and Joy malt profile. But now more of you can see for yourselves. Draft at 3F’s, Rating #992! Dec. 5, 2006. Hey, all! The 2006 edition has Summit hops and a charge of wet hops from the brewery garden out back. And now it’s listed at 7.5% abv. Looks innocent enough: a dark copper in an imperial pint glass, with a half-inch head. Smell is a big slap of fresh hops, all right. Sure ’nuff, lots of citrusy hops up front in the taste, too. Spicy as well. Even hoppier than Alpha King, and a bit deeper in malt roasts. Altogether big and hearty brew!
