This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love. October release.

Pour is a hazy copper with a large white head. Aroma is a very nice crisp pine with lots of florals. Flavor is a bit weaker and gets even a bit watery at the end. Some citrus hop and a bit of caramel malt come out but nothing to put this into the excellent category. Just an average IPA.

Bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. Didn’t realize that this was only 5.5% ABV. Pours with a hazed copper body and a fluffy off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma has some strong Simcoe pine, and some citrus hops, caramel and tangerine. Nice tang to the aroma. Taste is citrus lemony with pineapple, dirt and caramel. Full mouthfeel yet some how watery. Very strange.

Courtesy of kiefdog. Pours copper with gold edges and very thin white head. The aroma is full with citrus goodness, sweet malts and black tea, yum. The taste has an initial bite of citrus orange peel to grapefruit bitterness that is being kept in check by sweet malts, mild roasted malts and some black tea leaves. Very nice stuff. All notes come together in harmony.

22oz bottle-pours an off white head and slightly hazy amber color. Aroma is mild/ok fruit-mango/peach/pine/slight spice hops, secondary medium malt. Taste is fruit-mango/peach/pine/dry spice/earthy hops, secondary medium malt. Finishes semi dry. OK effervescence. Slightly off my preference, but nice. Thanks tattorso for the trades with jwc215 and me.

Perfect deep amber and copper coloured body with a dense thick tan head and a nice ruby tint. Aroma of perfectly fragrant bitter hops, tucked in with flowers, pine, grapefruit and even more hops...smells amazing. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive hops up front with a metallic twang up front, fading to a smooth hop bitterness. Aftertaste shows a little alcohol and no sweetness. Not overly strong or bitter, just a mellow finish, especially compared to what the aroma suggests! Overall, a great beer - perfectly balanced, especially for a harvest. I was thoroughly impressed and would love to have another bottle of this one! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from West LakeView Liquors in Chicago, Illinois on 15-December-2008, sampled less than a month later at home in Washington.

Thanks to Bobby91w for the bottle - pours a hazy copper, with a soapy lace - those spicy, herbal, grassy new zealand hops really slam the nose - wonderful aroma - oh yea, those hops really shine here, sticking to a bready, and lightly fruity sweet base - loads of new zealand hop spice, with the earthy simcoe adding a nice depth of hop flavors - not terribly complex, but this is the kind of beer where you want to revel in the hops, and this does just that.

courtesy of Kiefdog. Thanks Kevin for yet another great beer. Is there any beer that 3F does wrong? Pours orange with white head. Aroma is hoppy, loaded with excellent floral and herbal addition. It really carries its name of Harvest Ale well, this is like breathing in a bag of fresh flowers and herbs. Taste is again hoppy with light malts. Fruity with some nice smooth citrus and grapefruit notes. Beer is extremely smooth, and amazingly enjoyable.

Sample at the Columbus Ratebeer gathering at ogglethorp’s 11/20/08: The beer pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily. Thin sheet of lacing. Fresh hoppy aroma with notes of pine and grapefruit. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with flavors of citrusy hops, pine and malt. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Good all around.

Orange color. Low carbonation. Very nice hop aroma, lots of grass and wildflowers. A little bitter, but full bodied hop flavor. Some sweet malt. Thanks to Elgaucho for sharing.

bottle - Pours copper with a one finger white head. It smells of hops (duh) with citrus and a touch of pine. The flavor is intensely hopped with enough malt backbone to keep it from being overpowering. It’s full bodied and very full flavored, especially for a regular IPA. Excellent brew.
