Irish-inspired red ale owing much to crystal malts. Moderately hoppy, more on the rounded, malty side of things, with tasted bread and nutty notes. A true session beer, easy-drinking and at at moderate strength (4,8% ABV), it’s a perfect match with cooked ham, stews and many hard and semi-soft cheeses

Dark amber color with small head. Malty aroma, some milk as well, caramel as well. Taste is milky, a bit caramel, okay. Not Trois Dames level as it could be.

330ml bottle from Drinks of the World, Winterthur. Shared with blackhaddock down there on a train replacement bus en route to a Midlands beer tasting. Pours chestnut brown with tan head. Aroma of dark fruits. A touch of Irish red ale in the taste, but I don’t know if that’s because Jeremy mentioned it. A pleasant Swiss red ale with decent malts and fruit.

33cl Bottle shared with minutemat on back seat of a coach on the way to a Midlands Beer Swap in Birmingham on 24th Aug 2014. Cheers Mat, a low alcohol Irish Red from Switzerland. Pours a deep red with an off-white head. I thought it a cross between a normal Irish Red and a semi-sour Flemish Red Ale, so a semi-sour Irish Red really. I liked it. The body could have been a bit richer/thicker but otherwise a very pleasant beer.

My bottle 2010 had 4.4% and was named "Ale Rousse Rivale". --> 12/12/10/9

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, amber to copper colour with a short and tanned foamy layer. Mildly toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel, bread, as well as a subtle fruity hoppy touch. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with an almost crisp carbonation. Toasty malt-character, slightly burnt flavours, caramel, again subtle fruity notes; sweet and slightly bitter caramelly finish. Aromatic. 06.II.13

Bottle (fortunately n o t delivered by Allen!): Hazy, chestnut-amber coloured, small off-white foamy layer, some roasty-fruity aromas detectable; moderate dryish bitter and also sweetish flavours, light bodied; slightly lingering dryish hoppy-toasty finish. Nice little brew, well balanced...

Bottle from Drinks of the World, Bern. Sour aroma, sour bitter flavour, nobody else mentioned the sourness so I think this bottle may have been contaminated.

Bottle shared. Pours cloudy brown with an off white head. Aroma is funky sour, not in a good way, bad bottle perhaps. Flavour is also bad sour, must be contaminated.
