Bottle from Bier Koning. Hazy brown beer, small off white head. Smooth semi dry palate. Rich malt with an obvious marmite streak. Aniseed and a whisper of smoke in the finish. Not awful but the marmite is a bit much and the boooze obvious. 2.7

Bottle that has been in the cellar for a couple of years. Smooth creamy malt, nicely balanced mellow dried fruits. Smooth finish. No marmite and no obvious booze just a whisper of spice. Much better!

Bottle @ home. Chestnut colored brew, with fair off-white head, a little layer remaining & some lacing. Aroma’s of red fruit and sugar. Flavor is fruity and fairly sweet. Lots of fruit & spices in the finish. Not bad, but I didn’t like it much (I remember liking it much more when it was still called Leckere Winterbier, but that was long tima ago).

Fles 30cl thuis. Krachtig, bittere afdronk. Licht zoetig maar niet vervelend. Apart. (10-2010).

Draft at Arendsnest. Dark mildly hazy copper with a foamy white head. Fresh aromas of caramel and piquant spice. Medium body; foamy carbonation. Suggests a touch of chocolate or cola. Herby bitter finish. Suggests melon somewhat.

Bottled as "De Leckere Winterbier. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is very sweet with notes of burnt caramel and light notes of butterscotch, leading to a lightly bitter finish.
