Smallish offwhite head. Amber body. Deep complex wooden oak vanilla and spice aroma with herbal caramelly fruity vinuous notes. Deep sweet alcoholic toffee and caramel taste with fruity apple and alcohol notes. A touch of vanilla as well. Excellent, but maybe a bit too alcoholic. (0.341l bottle from yngwie.)

Bomber...dark brown with beige head...creamy body with the classic bourbon taste that so many weyerbachers follow now a day....you can smell the malts and bourbon also some fig....almost a plum date taste...easy to drink for a high 11.8%...a bit of stickiness left on the lips

Bottle from Slob - Thanks! Pours a deep copper reminiscent of cognac with a smaller beige head. Aroma is strong with vanilla, bourbon, and oak. Even hints of bananas. Nice warming presence as the flavors penetrate. Oaky, vanilla, and bits of spice. Lots of bourbon. Glad to have tried a barrel aged quad.

Bottle poures an attractive cleae deep copper with a nice sandy head. Alcohol fumey, brandy like aroma. Cider, plum and vanilla. Warm bourbony flavors. Belgian fruity flavors. Plenty of alcohol burn. Lingering bitter woody trailer.

Pours deep brown into a snifter. Tropical fruit aromas. Thin tan head skims surface. Sweet tropical fruits upfront with a strong bourbon lasting finish.

Deep dark amber coloured body with a very thin slightly off-white coloured head. Aroma of oak, bourbon, vanilla, malt and pit fruits - very strong and very oaky. Full-bodied; Super strong oaky flavour with malt, alcohol and vanilla noticeable. Aftertaste shows more oak, bourbon, pit fruits and malt - nothing crazy. Overall, a decent beer - really too much on it and too oaky to notice anything new from this one. Overall, you arenโ€™t going to make a horrible beer with this combination at all - but this one is definitely a one-time purchase for me. I sampled this 12 ounce bottle purchased at Grape & Gourmet in Virginia Beach, Virginia on 04-November-2007.

For being a pretty strong beer, I didnโ€™t notice it as much (perhaps it was the complex taste and the small, but steady sips I made of this one. About halfway though the bottle I realized it was based on QUAD, a beer that I personally didnโ€™t care for in the least (could have been a bum batch or something).

75 cL bottle, thanks to Myrup. Pours hazy deep orange with a creamy white head. Quite spiced and slight chemical aroma. Flavour is quite nice raisin flavoured, somewhat sweet malty and slight spiced. Ends mellow with a spice note. Nice flavour, but aroma isnโ€™t great.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty and very spicy - combined with notes of alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, alcohol, and spices, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear copper color ale with a big foamy head with some good retention and some lacing. Aroma of unrefined sugar with some light bourbon notes. Taste is extremely sweet, probably too sweet for my taste buds with some light vanilla and bourbon notes. Body is about average with some good carbonation. Nice application of the barrel but the base beer is just too sweet for me โ€“ interesting experiment.
