Okay copper-orangeish body with modestly decent head but it does not stick around for too long. Aroma is crisp cardboard like a rather crappy lager. Flavour is intense smokiness with a hint of malt on the back end. Like charcoal there. No hops to indicate it’s an IPA, and this fails completely in that regard. Not impressed. Rather blah. Rather bad.

English style IPA. Pours pale blond with ok lacing and no head. A little hoppy, but not much overall flavour. Finishes a little sour. On tap at brewpub.

650 ml bomber bottle purchased at "The Strath" Ale, Wine and Spirit Merchants at the Strathcona Hotel in Victoria, BC. Pour is mostly clear, orange golden with a one inch white head. Aroma of muted resin, pine and fresh hoppiness. Taste is the pine and citrus, the malt is present, though also muted. Near the finish, a mineral flintiness appeared. This reminded me more of an English style IPA. Palate was a bit on the thin side. Overall, not a bad IPA, just a bit boring.

On tap at Spinnaker’s, Victoria. Pale gold, thick creamy head. Creamy English golden ale aroma, with hop which is hay and dry grass. Creamy in mouth. Not a PNW IPA. Smooth creamy golden ale with tangy slightly citrusy lemony/hay hop finish. Pleasant.
