Citrus zest IPA

Collaboration between Twin Sails, Yellow Dog, Parkside, Moody Ales

his year we teamed up with our friends on @brewersrow and @goodnightout_vancouver to brew a beautiful IPA dry hopped with Vic Secret and Enigma hops then conditioned on Citrus Zests. We chose April as the month to launch the beer as it is Sexual Harassment Awareness month, and the folks at Good Night Out are doing an amazing job creating a safer environment so that everybody can enjoy a good night out.

473 ml can. Pours a muddy yellow with moderate head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of pithy orange juice, melons and wheaty malts. Flavors of pithy orange juice and bitter citrus peel. it took all these breweries to come up with this? Can understand the other ratings - maybe this old...

Can: Poured a light hazy golden color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of huge floral citrusy notes with some orangey notes and light grapefruit notes also perceptible. Taste is a good mix of orangey notes with some citrusy notes and light grapefruit with some subtle notes of residual sugar. Body is full with good carbonation. Solid IPA with nice juicy notes.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy blond color. Nice aroma, peach, citrus fruits. Lean mouthfeel, lightly sweet, soft carbonation, very zesty, huge grapefruit, without the acidity of the fruit, but with some of that botanical bitterness.
Almost like drinking juice. Very good.

Taster at the brewery with Alex. Pours a cloudy blonde with a white head. Aroma is dirty and grassy. Taste is similar, very bitter. Ok.

Can. Bought at Legacy a while back. Pours opaque, but lively yellow, with a thick, rocky head. Would have been nice if they'd filtered out the chunks of citrus zest, though. Yikes. On the nose, just a big fruity aroma, orangey, grapefruity, maybe a touch of some tropical stuff. Fresh, with a rich citrusy bitterness. Soft malts. Touch of yeast. Refreshing. Really, this is good. I've grown skeptical of collabs because brewers don't bring their best, but someone showed up ready to brew for this one. Might be the best thing to come off Brewer's Row this year.
