Ins Glas ergießt sich ein sehr dunkelbraunes fast schwarzes Bier mit schöner beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Kaffee, schokoladig, fruchtig. Geschmack angenehm röstmalzig, schokoladig, Kaffeebohnen, fruchtig herb, leicht alkoholisch.

Bottle thanks to MrH. Pours opaque black with a medium brown head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, anise, cocoa. Flavor is the same, but the anise is much less pronounced, medium sweet and roasty, milk chocolate, ashtray, a bit burned. Medium bitter. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Enjoyable beer.

Flaske 0,33l. Gave fra Fin&Loz. Småhissig. Lys gyldenbrun. Litt uklar. Lavt skum som raskt flater helt ut. Beskjeden fruktaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken er aprikos. Litt syrlighet etter hvert. Another thank you to Fin&Loz. for hauling so many good beers all the way to Tromsø last January. Deltok med denne i Mass Online Tasting 3 Des 13.

Big thanks to Fin&Loz&Isobel for this beer gift. 330ml bottle. Creamy, tan-coloured head. Pitch black body. Dark vanilla and dark malts on the nose. Mixed flavours of dark fruits, slightly roasted coffee beans, and chocolate leading to a malt-fruity ending. Well bodied. Fine, slow sipper (shared with Finn as a part of our mass online tasting, Tromsø 03.12.2013).

Bottle thanks to Douberd and the European Local Swap II. Black colour with a light beige head, good retention with nice lacework. Aroma is coffee and black chocolate, toasted malts with hints of bourbon. Flavor is smooth and creamy, roasted and toasted malts, coffee, licorice traces, ripe fruit and borbon dominating. The final is slightly alcoholic, with light bitterness and a long and strong bourbon aftertaste.

Bottled. More or less black colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is some liquorice, alcohol and quite interesting herbal and grassy notes. Not that evident Sorachi Ace actually in combination to the IS elements. Flavour is liquorice, some slight ashy and roasted notes along with some floral and grassy notes. Pleasantly balanced.

Gravity Cask at GBBF ’13, 15/08/13. Mid black with a thin tan head that clears edgeward leaving a swirl. Nose is roast malt, liquorice, hoppy back notes, candied sugars, dark toffee. Taste comprises light chocolate, hint of coconut, sugars, liqourice, dark fruits, toffee, light booze. Full bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate, light spice in the finish. Very good stuff!
