12.7oz bottle from Bert's. Near black pour, miniscule beige ring. Aroma is rummy, brown sugar, sweet, latent booziness. Taste is sweet and woody, chocolate notes, molasses, a little bit boozy. More rum than porter, but still great.

Bottle from Tavour. Pours very dark brown with a slight beige/tan head. Aroma starts with rum and moves towards chocolate. Full bodied. Flavor is rum, chocolate, slightly musty wood, vanilla. Some darkish, but not dark, fruits after awhile. Not citrus or prunus. Could be berry. Very, very much what this rum lover desires.

Definitely lots of rum on the nose here. Kind of overtakes the beer. Roast and date. Booze. Black pour with ok head. Caramel. Bittersweet finish. Tap at brewery.

375ml bottle at Erik's. Appearence: opaque brown with a beige head Aroma: Brett and roasted malt Taste: similar, with quite high roasted malt bitterness Overall: I suppose it's infected, meh

375mL bottle, pours black with a massive tan head. Aroma brings out some subdued phenols with toasted malt, and nary a trace of rum. Flavour brings out medium toasted malt, with some rum, a hint of rubber, and intense carbonation. This is definitely a bit infected -- way too carbonated and lacking depth. Needs work.

Light brown colour. This is quite infected, with sourness being the main thing you smell, and it's carbonated. The fizziness of course messes with all those rich sugars. I want those. I get the rum, I get some of the toffeeish dark malts. It could be good stuff, but the infected bottle is not doing it any favours, even though, technically, it's still drinkable.

12.7 oz bottle. Aroma is cocoa, rum, wood, raisin, licorice, vanilla. Pours black with a one finger tan head with decent retention. Taste is sweet and roasty with flavors like the aroma. Perfect carbonation and mouthfeel, unlike the last two barrel aged beers from this brewery. Good stuff.

375 ml bottle. Pours a almost pitch black color until held up to the light, a dark brown really, a large beige head. A big sweet roast and rum nose. Very sweet, huge spicy rum, light almost banana esters, chocolates. Very smooth. Damn good. Very nice treatment.

On tap. Pours black with moderate head. Aromas of dark chocolate and dusty roasted malts. Flavours of dry dark chocolate, rum, black coffee and slick roasted malts. Like a rum flavoured chocolate... Very Nice!
