Brewed with pale ale, crystal and brown malts and bottle conditioned. This results in a beer that is rich, with fruity aromas and a warming sweet raisin and biscuit finish. Something to really savour and perfect for all seasons.

330ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, April '19, courtesy of Mike. Pours dark ruby, frothy beige head. Encouraging dark treacle nose. Taste is smooth and rich, soft dark treacle providing the bulk of the flavour, great balance and drinkability. Lovely stuff.

Murky red beer, off-white head. Malty, fruit aroma. Taste is malty fruit, a little hop, some caramel. A fairly basic barley wine but it's fine.

At a tasting, smallish head, clear brown to very dark red color, aroma of stale bread, vanila and just a hint of barnyard with some caramel behind. caramel flavor with a hint of barnyard. Simple and disappointing.

Wethersoon Autumn Beer Festival 2017. Cask @ Cuthbert Brodrick, Leeds. Dark-red and smoothish, it’s a strong winter warmer with dark fruits, a sweetness, and some mild spice.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. Extremely dark ruby-red with a very thin head. Has a sweetened, somewhat sugary nose and taste with a darker fruitiness here.

[Copenhagen 2017] Draft sample @ SKAAL. Dark ruby brown amber, little tanned head. Nose is thick DE fish guts, yeast, soap BE cough syrup, Christmas syrup,… Taste is cloying liquorice, caramel, syrup but also some spices, clove that make it a bit more interesting. Not bad for what it is but a bit too thick BE, DE cough syrup for me.
