Ins Glas ergießt sich ein trübes dunkelbraunes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr fruchtig malzig, dunkle trockene Früchte, Karamell, alkoholisch. Geschmack sehr fruchtig malzig, rote Beeren, Dörrobst, alkoholisch.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy and yeasty aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. candis and fruit dominating. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. Too sweet to be fantastic but still nice.

Bottle, 13C. Dark brown with a fat coat of off-white head that fades after a time but never quite disappears. Aroma of stewed and dried fruit - prunes, raisins, dried banana - dough, cloves. Full, somewhat syrupy texture, lowish carbonation. No real chocolate notes. Bass register fruitiness that’s lightened by a dry, spicy and discreetly bitter finish. Slightly disjointed like a low res picture - maybe would come together more in another few months. But pretty good.

Dark, almost opaque black color, steady beige head. Candy sugar, dark fruits in the nose. Medium to full bodied. Very much strong Belgian yeasty flavor. Candy sugar, some spices, dark fruits, alcohol. By ageing this would be super.

22 oz bottled shared by csbosox. The pour is a cloudy brown with not much of a head. The aroma is yeast, banana, clove and a well managed light roasty sweetness. There is also a hint of roast, perhaps even ever so slight dying campfire. The taste is big on the clove banana yeast up front, turning to lightly sweet malt, showing nice raisin plum fruit notes. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, with soft low carbonation and a lingering sweet mildly hot finish. The alcohol is warming, though well integrated. Thanks for sharing this one Chris, nice American Quad.

0.65l bottle #22, bottled feb 2011 from Kihosk bought as a gift from my girlfriend. Big thanks! This is a really murky charcoal/amber colored one with a small sidesticking and islandy beige top. On the nose I get sweet ripe bananas, green apples, yeast and a heavy heavy candy-sweetness! There is also a swiff of smoke hidden within this, but the sweet banana and candy sweetness dominates everything. The flavor is also quite there on the sweet side. It's a heavy oxidation going on in this. Probably one of the most oxidized one I've ever had. It's average on the carbonation and kinda sticky-oily on the mouthfeel. More brown banana sweetness, fruity with plums, dates, some thin raisins, melon and caramel. A bit watery perhaps in the finish. Slightly warming aftertaste. I like the story behind this beer, both the brewers and definitely the way I got it. 24.10.2012

Medium beige head. Deep dark red body with floaties. Fruity spicy bubblegum aroma with oily soy sauce notes. Dry-sweet spicy fruity bubblegum taste. Full-bodied. Mild, with some heat. Dryish spicy dried fruit and earth aftertaste with roasty soy sauce notes. Nice, but a bit closed and heavy, and flavours don’t harmonize completely. (0.65l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen. Batch 22, from summer of 2011, which might explain some of the deviation from perfection.)

2011 bottle. Aroma is full of fruit. Lots of raisins, plums and figs. There is also a Belgian candi sugar essence to the aroma. Some faint caramel, toffee and a hint of cracker but the malt character is fairly overshadowed by the esters and fruit. Pours a nice brown to dark brown with a hint of ruby highlights and a light tan head that recedes fairly quickly to the edges. Flavor starts sweet with some cracker and caramel as well as toast and a hint of roast. Mid palate you get the fruit that's in the aroma. The finish brings a bit more toast and a light alcohol note to help clean the sweet fruit away. The raisin note lingers a bit with the alcohol. Medium low bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to medium full bodied with medium carbonation. The alcohol warmth is moderate and the astringency is very low. Overall this is a nice beer, especially if you like your quads very fruity. I am starting to pick up some oxidation on the edges so definitely don't cellar this more than 18 months. I guess I would have liked more malt character in the aroma to balance the fruitiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

66 cl. bottle sampled / shared @ Tim’s De Molen & assorted beers tasting // purchased @ Hopduvel // wow, this is the first USA beer which I tried that tasted genuinely 100 % Belgian to me // very impressive on one hand to me // on the other side, this seems quite absolute to me because it is not top of the game & I have to pay import prices etc. // state-side this might be quite the deal // cute design // dark brown amber with a white head // smell is sweet Belgian yeast, dark fruits, herbs & spices // taste is sweet, very BE-yeast, the real deal & not some of the stuff that they just push as Belgian, ripe dark fruits, caramel, spices, three bark, lots of yeast, berries, light touch of molasses, candy sugar // medium, less heavy than quite a few quads

Brown colour, white head. Aroma of candy sugar, malts, Belgian yeast, coffee, loads of caramel. Basically it smells like a quad. They got the style right, that’s for sure. Sweet candy sugar flavour, light sour touch. Finish candy, yeast, banana, light sour note.
Check, it is a quad. Well done. For the European (Belgian) market I guess it would be less interesting as a consequence (as there are cheaper local examples available), but if you want an American made Belgian quad true to style (as far as this style is true, that is), this is your beer imho.
