Another hit in the wild oats series. A dense light tan head on a dark brown body. The nose starts with Belgian yeast, then moves into ripe berries, brown sugar and raisins. Roasted malt, raisins, plums, candied fruit, prunes and brown sugar lead a solid and engaging taste profile. A touch of sour cherries and banana from the Belgian yeast round it out. Smooth mouth feel and a nice light, fine carbonation like many Belgian style beers. A quad that is deep in taste and richness, but doesn’t fall into the trap of being too sweet.

650ml bottle from the lcbo. Dark brown pour, big beige head. Big, dark, fruity malts. Slight booze, very bready with some toffee and caramel. Candi sugar and wet paper with a metallic, dry finish. Pretty solid to style, a. Nice effort.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted caramel malt, some brown sugar and a hint of dark fruits. Flavour is quite sweet, with plenty of dried dark fruits, brown sugar, caramel and booze. Not an authentic quad by any means—it doesn't have that proper expression of yeast—but it's a decently done sweet strong ale.

Medium brown with just a little head. Sweet but sort of nondescript nose, sweet candy taste. Bit thin for style, light fruitiness. Sultana. Needs richness and depth...the flavour here is more like bw than quad but either way it comes across timid.

Pours a deep reddish brown with little head. Aromas of raisins, dry caramel and toasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional metallic yeast, brown sugar and dry dark fruit.

Draught at Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar (W. Broadway), Vancouver
Dark brown color. Light caramel aroma, with delicate fruity esters, also light bubblegum. Some caramel flavor, mildly sweet, lean body, most of all with too much alcohol perception; hints of vegetables, bubblegum, touch of dark fruits.
More American than Belgian, and too boozy.

Draft - Prune and sweet raisin. Dark brown with a small beige head. Sweet, prune and light raisin with a touch of bitterness. A little thin for a quad.

Bottled, from Broue Ha Ha, Gatineau. Dark brown, small, firm head. Marzipan, brown sugar and toffee up front. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Grainy malt, brown sugar, caramel. Some madeira, lots of brown sugar. Warming mid bitter finish. Big beer, but lacks some of the complexity that makes the best quadrupels what they are
