Bottle. Deep golden-orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is sugar, malt, hop, alcohol. flavour is sugar, malt, hop, alcohol, berries, tropical fruits. Too boozy to me.

On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. This is a cloudy orange looking one with a really nice lacing white medium sized top. Smells nice, is a little mild for such a pungent barley wine? Mild caramel sweet with zesty fruits and oranges. Smells a bit like a heffe weiz to be honest. It most definitely tastes like a heffe! I was under the impression that this was a barley wine? Like a juiced up heffe on some sort of mutated steroids. Almost lively on the carbonation and it's nice and oily in the mouth. A bit marmalade sticky in the taste, but this doesn't taste like any other barley wine I've had. Wheat, spices and sugary stickiness. Some red sweet sugary rhubarb in the finish. Almost a tomato acidity and sweetness in the aftertaste. A but warming also. Tasty but really strange! 11.01.2014

Draft @ Hoppy Loft. Dorée, col blanc fin. Arôme de fruits fermentés complété par pas mal de houblons nobles et un rétro-nasal modéré offrant des pointes épicées rappelant le gingembre. Palais offre de suite la marque de ses 13%, légèrement sucré, fruité fermenté entre pêche et abricot. Pour moi, le profil barley wine est un peu oublié et on se retrouve plus vers une Belgian Strong Ale des plus banales.

Bottle. A hazy, orange-golden beer with a dense, off-white head. The aroma is quite sugary, with alcohol and tropical fruits. Very warming on the palate, full-bodied and softly carbonated. Tropical fruits, white sugar and a sourish fruityness. Lasting warming, sweet and fruity finish. Not very pleasant this one, it’s way too warming, and lacks on both complexity and tastefulness. 131231

Draught @ Beer Temple. Hazy dark orange color, medium sized off - white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is floral, blossom, a bit sweetish. Taste malts, some sweetness, alcohol, slightly bitter. There’s some annoying peppery flavor that hits you pretty hard right after the initial flavors. Thick texture, medium to full body, medium carbonation. Nice and weird at the same time.
