Sights & Swills Summer Holiday Beer#61. ST MALO. Evening drink in the centre. Brown coloured sweetish stout with a noticeable carbonation providing a gassiness. There is a little bit of 'roasted' to be found in both aroma and taste. Has an easy enough strength.

Old rating - A bottle brought back from Brittany, 2nd time I've tried this. A very nice porter like beer with roasted malt.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Station Pub, Rennes, 20240610) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, Belgian style yeast, toasted malts and ash. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, fruitiness, Belgian style yeast, toasted malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt notes, biscuits and bitterness. Surprisingly nice.

Fles gedeeld door Inoven, geprobeerd met Keukeman, Benzai en Roelzie. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout en chocolade. De smaak is vol gebrande mout, chocolade en koffie.

Fles gekocht tijdens vakantie in Frankrijk. Diep donkerbruin bier met matig beige schuim dat als een film blijft liggen. Aroma van chocola, koffie en gebrande mout. Smaak is waterig, bitter en koffieachtig. Nasmaak is rokerig en bitter.

Bottle. Dark brown, creamy foam. Aroma: caramel, buckwheat, dark malts, a little coffee and chocolate traces, a little spicy yeast, sweet. Taste: caramel, roasted malt, cold coffee, buckwheat, dark and burnt malt, a little chocolate, velvety, a little spice, quite interesting beer.
