A heavy, copper colored, bittersweet and extreme hopped beer.
Extase is a Double IPA with a blend of fourteen excellent hops, very intense and with a balanced character. The slight sweetness of the malt sugars and the alcohol complement the bitterness of the beer. Extase does up to its name with its extreme hoppiness (over 100 IBU). A beer with stratification: because of the diversity of hops the beer tastes something differently with the gradual warming by every sip. A delight for every ‘hophead’.

Bottle @ ZZT7 thx to martinus. Hazy orange colour with a full white head. Smells hops, fresh, fruity, pine. Tastes very hoppy, bitter, fresh, fruity, apricots. Medium body, lasting taste, great carbo.

Slightly hazy orange golden colour, firm off-white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, hay, tropical fruit, pine. Hops, quite a bit of them. Bitter flavour, light sweet, alcoholic touch. Lots of aromatic hops. Creamy body, finish bitter hops, tropical fruits, resin and pine.
Great IPA. Fierce, but still balanced. I could drink this all day.

Compared in a tasting of three fresh double IPAs, head to head with a fresh Pliny the Elder and Borg Úlfur Úlfur, all bottled in April 2013. The Extase was the most dry one, with perhaps the best flavour profile. I was surprised there was no clear winner, I was maybe expecting the Pliny blowing the others away, but the other two stood their ground and shone brilliantly. Great beers, nice tasting!

ZBF Festival 2013 - Hazy golden colour. Fresh hoppy aroma and flavour. Very well balanced. The bitterness is strong but not overpowering. Low carbonation, smooth texture.

Tap. Pours a yellow/brown with full head. A hop bomb. Big aromas of grapefruit and pine. Flavors of fruity grapefruit, pine, toasty malts and light sugar. Beautiful balance for such a bomb. Excellent.

Draught Good white head over hazed orange beer; good lace. Citrus (orange, grapefruit), and other exotic, acidic fruit, drenched in hops. Very bitter, citrus, even quinine, grapefruitpeel, or pomegranatepeels. Medium bodied, hopoilslick. Good, if not really very complex DIPA. Might benefit from a bit more refinement, becoming more delicate-flowery.

Draft sample @ ZBF’13 shared with the RB Belgian crew. Orangée trouble, col beige moyen. Arôme est fruité vers le tropical; mangue, houblon renfermé avec ce mixe entre des houblons nobles très euro et un ajout plus américains. Palais est ici aussi plein de houblons. Le tout est fruité et généreux sur des notes d’agrumes couplées à un fruité plus tropical. Malt complète le tout avec un léger grillé sur une fine pointe de fumé. This is full on yumminess.

1 week old. Sampled draft @ ZBF 2013. A murky, hazy orange with a wonderfully, very creamy white head. Nose is huge creamy caramel combined with lots of USA, grapefruit hops, thick pine, hints exotic fruits, creamy toffee, sweet & bitter balance and counteract one and another. Taste starts of with IIPA caramel, toffee, touch exotic fruits sweetness, malt base leading very quickly into very bitter grapefruit, light floral touches, leading into almost grass, strong pine resin, light exotic fruits. Very creamy body. Wonderful, makes me think a bit of Belle-Fleur on steroids.

Little cloudy orange beer, nice creamy yellowish head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: pine trees, grassy, very fruity, mango, sweet, malty, some sugar. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: malts, bit sweet, nice bitter piny hops, resinous, malty, fruity, bitter, exotic fruits. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, resinous, dry, citrus, fruity as well, grains, little dry and medicinal. Very decent IPA.
