750ml bottle pours a clear gold with some cloudy, white head. Big ginger nose, spice, fresh grated ginger, coriander seeds, heavy clove. I have never understood the need to over spice a beer like this where the yeast is already promoting those spice flavors and aromas. Overkill. Flavor is sweet, spicy, ginger, huge candy sugar. Blech. Sticky, spicy finish.

Sample at The Distillery in Savannah. Pours a mostly clear orange-gold color with a medium thick off-white head that dissipates slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of yeast, sweet spices and fruit. Full-bodied with flavors of tropical fruit, spicy yeast, wheat and a bit of booze. The finish is sweet and fruity with a lingering ginger aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Persimmon and cheesy funk, lemon on the nose. Cloudy amber, almost orange, very little head. Full bodied and tart. Warm lemon and peach flavor. Finishes with twigs, apple core, and oats. Alcohol is too prominent and overwhelms any sense of nuance.

From a 75 cl bottle shared at home. Pours a reddish gold with a thin white head. Aroma of orang, pineapple and toffee. Flavor dominated by pineapple -- less balanced than the aroma. Lingering pineapple finsih.

Bottle at ChrisO Holiday Tasting, London - thanks to The Peter (or The Peterβs mother-in-law, rather). Pours clear, orange-gold with a fine, white froth. Strong pale malt nose with light spices and citrus. Medium to big sweet flavor with rich and sticky pineapple, white sugar, moderate alcohol. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warm finish with lots of fruits, pineapple, orange, papaya, pale malts, some spices, light bitterness. Very decent, if quite robust.

Capped 750 from Malt & Vine. Pours somewhere between orange and copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is pineapple, mixed spice. Maybe a hint of ginger. It has that Belgian yeast smell as well. Med + body. Flavor is pineapple, mixed spice, pretty sure ginger. As a separate consideration Belgian yeast/spice might also fit. It is rather sweet/sour. Or sweet/tart. This stuff is challenging my descriptive powers. It really puts a grip on the taste buds. Heat is not an issue. At least not initially. That pineapple seems to be the single identifiable dominant characteristic.

Bottle at ChrisO tasting, thanks to Peter but ultimately Myrna, 30/12/12. Hazed light to mid golden with a thin off white head that escapes to edgeville. Nose carries sweet candied sugars, malt, spice, caramel, dark ripe fruits, touch of booze. Taste comprises pineapple, sweet sugars, caramel, dark fruits, a little spice. Full bodied, soft carbonation, boozey finish. Decent!
