This a "ruby" port that had matured for 7 years in oak barrels. The combination gives a very suprising taste. The fermentation in the bottle gives the beer even more evolution after years, into a very "vintage" beer.
Beer brewed with care to be consumed carefully.
Pilsner, Vienna, Cara 50, Cara 120, Special B & Choco 850 malts. Styrian Goldings, East Kent Goldings, Saaz, Cascade & Amarillo hops. 145 EBC

2012 Vintage. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to Kraddel. Reddish, faintly dark brown, little head. Smells of herbs, overripe fruits, herbal, leaves, lots of liquorish. Taste is sweet liquorish, herbal, leaves, overripe berries, not getting any barrel here. Bit thinner body. Pretty weak overall with a very hefty price tag. Meh.

Bottle @ ZZT VII, thx to everyone for sharing their bottles. Typical belgian strong ale with loads of messy yeast esters. Some extra red fruit and blackcurrant. But quite unbalanced. Actually, quite a mess.

Bottle shared by Dutchdrebus @ ZZT VII. Pitch black color, small beige head. Smell malts, yeast and sweet. Taste malts, sweetish, lightly alcohol. Hmm a bit boring, but I don’t dislike it.
