Bottle from the Struise shop. Dark brown, small golden bubbly head. Aroma is pineapple, roasty sweet and funky. Booze and sugar. Taste is lovely, roasty, bit of coffee, lots of roast and something weird. Nice funkiness from the barrel I guess. Really liked this, probably should have drunk it earlier in the evening to properly appreciate it.

Bottle. Almost black and opague. Odd mix of roast and sweet white wine in the aroma. oak, vanilla. Full bodied. Slightly alcoholic. Roast, coffee, oak, vanilla in the flavor. Vinous notes. Honey. hazelnuts. Flavors and aromas come and go, but somehow don’t integrate well.

Weicher malziger, wenig süßer Antrunk. Holzig, erhöhte Karbonisierung. Der Alkohol hält sich angenehm zurück, etwas trocken. Steigende malzige Intensität, sehr weich. Rundum gelungen. 10/11/11/11//11

Bottle shared at craft clerko. Picked up at the Brewery. Dark black / caramel brown coloured pour with a lasting tan head. Aroma is really nice struise yeast plum and apricot fruit, dark malts, dried fruits, little toasted coconut. Flavour is composed of nutty dark malts, little coconut, little milky, dark dried fruits. Palate is medium full, velvety on the tongue, moderately carbonated. I like this.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Fergus. Pours brown-black with a frothy tan head. The nose holds some burnt wood, chocolate, toasted cereal, toffee. Medium to big sweet flavor, with rich toffee, some butterscotch, earth, cocoa. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with a bit of burnt malt, chocolate, candi sugar, booze, nuts. Tasty.
