Wenig säuerlicher Geruch, der sich im Geschmack nicht widergespiegelt. Trocken, zu alkoholisch, etwas getreidig, leicht holzig. Ok. 10/11/9/9/8/9

Bottle from Beer Moth, Manchester. Murky orange pour with a small white head. Caramel malts, yeast and rye present in the nose.Flavour was similar in tandem with notes of spice and booze. A bit on the heavy side. Good but not great.

330mL bottle, pours a murky amber-tinged brown with a large beige head. Aroma brings out lots of Belgian yeast, light caramel, and some dark fruitiness. Flavour is rich on the caramel, with non-cloyingly sweet caramel, candied sugar, Belgian yeast, and a little heat - though the ABV is surprisingly well-concealed for a 10% beer. This is quite a bit more complex than the average rating suggests. Well-contained sweeteness, complex with the caramel notes, and just enough heat to pack a punch. Wonderful stuff.

Wonderful. The mixing comes together in a way that would normally be gimmicky if anyone but Struise was involved. Pours clear mahogany with good head and lacing. Light booze and coriander, the latter which is somewhat eclipsed by rye. Sweet and sour finish. Tap at Churchkey.

Thx! to tderoeck. Tasting glass draft @ ’t Schooltje. Dark red amber, way darker than the new XX which we had alongside it. Tanned head only on the sides. Nose is pure cuberdons, huge sugar, caramel, very sweet,... Taste is pure cuberdons, lots of candy & very sweet, pure suar, caramel, toffee, sticky,... Full body. Pretty simple & very sweet, bit too much to drink even a sample of, not a bad beer but would expect a bit more. Earlier Rating: 5/12/2012 Total Score: 3.9draft // Struise tasting glass @ Kulminator // fox / red fruits amber with a tanned / beige creamy, nicely lacing white head // smells very sweet, quite liqueur-like, lots of spices & other grains, some rye, touch dark & black bread // alternative grains upfront, rye, darker bread, lots of spices, sweet, liqueur, cognac, candy sugar, touch syrup like quality, sweet, spices, finish, quite boozy at the back, more than you definitely expect from a 10 % beer // despite the other grains structure, quite, creamy smooth, touch jam feel to it // definitely in line with what appears to be Urbain’s new style // extremely different from any other tripel I have had so far, difficult to even think of this as a triple, far from bad

Had this at the De Struise Tap Takeover at Churchkey. Poured a slightly dark amber color with a small white head. Aroma had notes of the rye, light spice, yeast character. Had it side by side with the Bourbon Barrel Aged version, and this certainly was more sharp than the other one was.
