Most definitely, this first and foremost a wheat ale. You can taste the wheat from start to finish. A faint toasted note from the addition of flaked oats is present in the beer as well. This is a light bodied beer that finishes with a spicy layer in the end. The overall impression should be an easy-to-drink refreshing ale.

Flaske 0,75l spandert av Rune og delt hjemme hos ham 26 Jan 12. Gyldenbrun. Litt tåkete. Høyt luftig skum som fester seg til glasset. Syrlig krydderaroma. Myk munnfølelse, Svakt syrlig kryddersmak. OK men litt ensformig. + for en spesiell etikett,

Big bottle from Ølbutikken in Copenhagen. This is one of the few bottles I have bought mainly because of the controversial bottle label, which provoked quite a discussion in the US when it was released. The bottle is topped by a cork and a wire cradle. Unclear, yellow body. Fading white head, spotty lace. Moderate aroma of pale malts, mild spices and wheat. Sweet citrus hops in flavour alongside notes of dry honey and a dash of spices. Soft carbonated, rounded mouthfeel. Standard. And, of course, I saved of the label (session with Finn, Tromsø 26.01.2012).

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus, coriander, and some other spices. Flavour of coriander, lavender, light wheat, citrus (mild tartness), and some grapefruity zest notes. Medium-to-light body with soft carbonation. Decent wheat beer.

750 ml corked and caged bottle into a Hoegaarden tumbler. Hard to believe this is a summer seasonal. The label is tailor-made for Halloween. Brutal! Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a medium white head that falls into a tenacious skiff of foam fairly quick. Aroma is clovey, nutty, wheaty. Taste is mostly sweet, but it turns briefly tart and bitter mid-palate and finishes dry and meaty, much like burnt witch flesh. Highly carbonated. Nice one to drink leading up to All Hallows Eve. Now I’m going to put The White Album on the turntable and listen to Revolution 9 backwards.

Bottle @ home. Moderately cloudy, yellow orange appearance with a fluffy white head. Really nice, moderately spicy, a touch of barnyard, honey, citrusy wheat malty aroma. Moderately wild-barnyard, spicy, honey, citrusy, fairly yeasty, slightly bitter, wheat malty flavor. A bit tangy, wild, spicy, wheat aftertaste. Nice interpretation of a witbier.
