A deep dark imperial stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with light mineral notes, light licorice, light bourbon barrel notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with light coffee notes, light bourbon barrel notes, light grassy mineral notes, alcohol warmth, pleasant. On tap at Brother’s Beer Bistro.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of bourbon and chocolate upfront, followed by roasted malt and light lactose. Flavour is very roasty and dry, with lots of dry cocoa and roasted malt, with subdued bourbon and no hint of lactose. Dry, roasty finish. Really good.

Bouteille de 650ml. Du cacao plein les narines, du fudge, du gateau au chocolat et bien sur du Bourbon. Effluves de vanille également. La mousse brune onctueuse persiste de longues minutes sur le liquide noir et opaque. Le chocolat est intense en entrée de bouche et se développe rapidement en amertume de torréfaction pour la finale. Les notes sont de chocolat au lait, de fudge, de vanille et de Bourbon. L’alcool est très bien dosé. L’amertume est franche, autant dans les tons de roti que dans le houblonnage légèrement résineux. Un pur délice. En plein dans mes cordes. Bravo.

Tasting at Brian’s. 650ml bottle from Toronto (thx, Peter!). Pours a very dark brown with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, grassy, coffee. Taste is sweet, roasted malt bitterness. Quite good stuff.

Draft - Chocolate, dark roast and bourbon notes. More chocolate and roast. Jet black brown with a light brown head. Dark roast, bitter dark chocolate and a long finish. Tons of dark chocolate notes and a bit thin. Nice.

Bottle: Poured a black color stout with a nice large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with light marshmallow and vanilla notes with some black chocolate notes is nice. Taste is a mix of roasted malt with some marshmallow notes, black chocolates some vanilla and very subtle bourbon notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. The bourbon was not as apparent as I had expected but still an enjoyable beer nonetheless.
