MF: soft to no carbon, full body, bit syrupy texture. Taste: mocha, lots of dark chocolate, some raisins, coffee, sweet caramel, little bitter, hoppy, some dried fruits. Aftertaste: caramel, coffee, mocha, hops, dark chocolate.

Jet black beer, small quickly disappearing beige head. Aroma is heavily malty, chocolate, roasted malts, dark red fruits and slight fruity porto. Flavour is thick sweet malts, milk chocolate, dark dried fruits, wood, light bitterness, light molasses. Finish is velvety and long, nice porto tones, light alcohol notes (especially when considering the ABV). Very drinkable for such an eisbock processed stout. Definitely lovely.
(Draught, taster glass @ Struise Beershop, Brugge. 666th rating. Oh yeah.)

15 cl. draft poured into a lovely Struise tasting glass @ Struise beer shop – this beer originates from the same batch as Black Damnation XI with the beer being processed only to 18 instead of 22 % alcohol, only one keg of this made due to the fact that afterwards they decided that this was kegged prematurely but mind you just as Black Damnation V & VI are completely different beers so is this & Special K which was also their opinion – 4 % difference indeed did result in a completely different beer – black as black can be with a small quickly disappearing mocha/chocolate pudding head – smell is thick malts, chocolate, creamy, rich, slight porto – taste follows with thick malts, chocolate with a slight hint of bitterness, thick dark fruits with a slight hint of syrupiness to them, touch of wood, delicious, thick, creamy porto in the aftertaste, not alcoholic, quite easy to drink but definitely substantial body, although this does miss the sludginess that I loved in Special K, despite the fact that this is already quite heavy this still does feel like the easier, simpler & lighter version missing a bit the lovely heaviness of the final products, sadly both beers are bound to be compared, I understand why this needed that touch more, still very nice

Jet black colour with coffee-like foam. Rich vinous aroma. Texture is thick and oily. Flavour of roasted malts and a little smoke. The port sweetness and the woodiness from the barrel comes through in the aftertaste.

Draft @ Struise biershop, Brugge. 18% beer that did not reach the projected 22% of Special Kay.
