Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Bottle: Poured a brown with orange hazy bottom, two finger off white head floated on top. Aroma is nice juicy hops. Nice fresh hops strike the tongue, citrus and malts duke it out in the finish.

From a 11.5 oz bottle. Pours a murky amber with an off white head. Toffee and floral hop aroma. Surprisingly sweet malt flavors for an IPA. Hops are pretty subdued for the style.

Flaska från SB, tappad oktober 2012. Smutsig brunorange färg, lågt smutsvitt skum. Söt maltig doft av karamell och grapemarmelad. Söt smak som känns malttung och mäktigare än sina 6,5%. Humlen är västkusttypisk med mycket grape och lite tall, måttlig beska och inte någon humlebomb. Det är snarare malten som står i fokus och humlen som balanserar den. God men lite söt.

Djupt bärnstensfärgad vätska med beigefärgat skum. Aromer av grape, citrus, tallkåda, engelsk mjukkaka och en aning karamell. Stadig maltkropp och en rejäl beska där både citrusfrukter och tallkåda kommer fram. Värmande med fyllig munkänsla.

Bottle - Amber/copper in colour. Toffee, pine, peach and grapefruit in the aroma. Hoppy, tangy and moderately bitter taste with notes of dried apricot, peach and grapefruit.

Dégustée en fût sur place. De couleur ambrée-cuivrée et semi-voilée. Nez de houblon floral, moyennnement résineux, légèrement citrique et aux notes herbeuses, malté de caramel doux et légèrement fruité (agrumes). Rondeur moyenne en bouche et moyennement pétillante avec une texture huileuse. Goût moyen-amer de houblon floral, résineux et légèrement citrique (pamplemousse - une amertume qui dure toute la gorgée mais qui s’atténue progressivement vers la finale) et fruité (agrumes) avec un léger goût épicé (poivre doux) lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi d’un goût malté de caramel très doux avec de faibles traces rôties puis en finale le houblon adopte un caractère légèrement asséchant et un peu herbeux. Post-goût long et sec, moyennement amer de houblon floral, résineux, légèrement citrique et herbeux avec des notes fruitées (agrumes). (été 2006)

Bouteille 341ml. Couleur orangée foncée un peu trouble, peu de mousse beige disparaîssant rapidement en laissant un anneau. Arôme de fruits tropicaux, papaye, houblon, conifères léger, caramel léger. Goût de houblon résineux, pamplemousse, sucre léger, amertume en fin de bouche. Carbonation moyenne-élevée, corps moyen.
