Draft at BBF 2011. Clear amber pour with tan head. Woody aroma with peat and smoke which is matched in the flavour. Great example of the style.

Stark rauchig-schinkenartiger Geruch. Stark rauchiger Antrunk, hier ist kaum ein Zeichen der schinkenartigen Geruchsnote zu erkennen. Stärker würzig werdend, der Rauch pendelt sich auf hoher Intensität ein. Im Mittelteil süßlich, deutlich herb, hintergründig bitter. In Teilen erinnert die Rauchigkeit schon an einen Aschenbecher und sollte daher etwas gezügelt werden. Trockener Abgang, auch bedingt durch den auftretenden Hopfen. Die Rauchigkeit ist nun angenehmer, die Süße ist angenehm leicht im Hintergrund. Die Würzigkeit ist nicht sehr stark, passt aber. 12/12/12/12//12

(Draught at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, 20110422) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white with brown shading. Aroma had smoke, tar and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were smoke, smoked ham, malts, mildly grass, whisky and bitterness. Aftertaste was smoky and bitter. Nice beer resembling both Bamberg style smoked beer and a smoky Scottish whisky.

Draught (Bishops Arms, Folkungagatan, Stockholm) - Dark brown with red tinges and a slight haze. Smoky aroma with ham, gas, dried fruit and caramel. Smoky taste with smoked bacon, roasted malt and caramel. The smoke is prominent, yet not overwhelming.

Clear dark brown beer with a tidy white head. Smoky nose. Light dry palate. A pretty smoky beer that acheives a modicum of balance from some red fruits. Finishes dry. All about the smoke this one - a little too much so.

Draught at Borefts Beer Festival 2010, courtesy of Håge & Berith, thanks! This was a very nice smoke beer that Håge put on tap after the start of the festival. It had a nice aroma of sizzling bacon and ashtray (in a good way), and a taste of smokey butterscotch. Afterward, he blended this 50/50 with the Stormaktsporter (something only Håge could be brave enough to do), and the result was amazing! Thanks for an interesting festival.

On tap at Borefts BF ’10. Clear dark amber colour, off white head. Aroma of full on peat and iodine, hint of malts. Flavour is peat, earth, iodine at first, later on rather sweet and malty with loads of peat underneath. Medium bodied. Too much, but tasty as well.

Bottled @ BBF ’10. Dark color, short head. Nice smoked aroma, some ash and tar, bacon. Bit dryish taste, smoked again. Good stuff.

dark brown, small white head. aroma is very soked, alost peaty, almost citrussy from the smoke. flavor is quite smoked, faint roasted grains, bitter carae, faint licorice, sweet caramel, ends caramelly and smoked.
