Bottle @ BBF 2011. Deep dark brown color, opague. peaty aroma with grassy notes. Full bodied. Unique mix of dried fruit, roasty notes and oily hops, with clear peaty notes. Lacks balance, though.

Just like the normal Black & Tan, but with a little sharper edge, due to the Laphroaig aging instead of Isley. Nice one.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of the peated Laphroaig whisky, grapefruit, hard roasted malts, some earthy sweetness. Flavour is hard roasted malts, light caramel, earth, lovely peated whisky, some smoke, grapefruit, light citrus, nice bitter finish with more whisky. Medium-bodied. Great stuff imo.

Borefts Beer Festival 3. Opaque black beer, small tan head. Crispish dry palate. Minerals. Laphroaig is here, not overwhelming in itself but the base beer is somewhat subdued. Finishes with a carbonated bite.

Boreft Beer Festival 2011: Black with a lasting off-white head. Aroma dominated by peat smoke and medicine, with licorice in the background. Dryish, herbal and fresh flavour but completely covered in eavy peat smoke.

Angenehme Süße im Antrunk mit leichter Rauchigkeit. Harmonisch, rund, vollmundig. Nur eine geringe Trockenheit zum Ende trübt die Begeisterung. /11/12/12//12

Opague, pitch black colour with an off-white head. Smells like peaty single malt whisky and wood. Tastes very peaty.. also whisky. Fizzy carbo, full body.

12oz pour is a lightly watery, otherwise opaque black with a lacing, off white head. Nose of pure scotch, rubbery, salty, peated malt, smokey. Flavor is very smokey, sweet, honey, wine, lots of wood, soapy, molasses, nail polish remover. Full bodied, soapy finish. The barrel is very heavy, but not bad.

Borefts 2011. Peated aroma. Black colour, seems cloudy. Small stable tan head. The flavour is peated, quite sweet. Good roasted finish. Some barley bitterness.
