50cl bottle via trade with some terrible wax job that’s more annoying than anything to open the bottle. BB 14/08/2016.

Bottle as Guanabara from Bottles N’ Bins in Monterey, CA. Pours very dark brown with a dark tan head. Aroma of darker milky chocolate and maybe sugar. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is chocolate, some coffee, some dark treacle, and it finishes a lot less than dry, but somehow not exactly sweet. There is some heat, strongly in the gullet. Still, it drinks nicely, and it stands out from the common crowd, flavor wise.

Bottle shared at Borefts beer fest day 2 27/09/2014. Bodegraven. Many thanks to whomever shared this. Murky caramel brown coloured pour with no head to speak of. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, choc powder. Flavour is composed of choc, rough roast, nutty, rough round the edges. Some hot alcohol in the finish. Some berry esters and praline. Headache inducing. Palate is semi-sweet, highish carbonation.

Sample from 60 cl. bottle. As Colorado Ithaca. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Roasted aroma with dark malts, fruits, liqourice, soy sauce, chocolate and coffee. Taste is bitter-roasted. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and roasted with rich caramel, chocolate and coffee. Lovely Stout.

Bottle 60 cl. Comes as: "Colorado Ithaca". Pours am opaque black with a beige head. Lovely, swet vanillaish roast in the nose. Rich body, sweet suble dark malts, not overly roasty - more vanillaish. Warming alcohol finish but never boozy. Very pleasant. 170115

tap - Pours near black and smells of roasted malt and chocolate. It tastes very sweet with the chocolate malt character very prominent. I don’t think it’s hopped heavily enough to begin to keep up with the big malt load, so it’s sweeter than I’d like. It’s still pretty good, just a little underwhelming for my favorite style.
