Clear gold, small white head. Fruity aroma, light Apple, and apricot. Solid green, leafy hops, and subtly sweet grains. Really nice beer. The boozy is very well hidden, but becomes more apparent as the beer warms. Good sweet grains finish with more fresh leafy hops to cut it.

The commercial description really only tells half the story of the first batch of Lug Tread. Note that there are no haters in that story. It's a story CapFlu can tell better than I, but suffice to say it's part of Ratebeer lore involving one of ours who lived in Ottawa at the time. So not only did I drink this beer, I did so while wearing the t-shirt, as a tribute.

Golden, slight haze. Nose has a nice, slightly fruity (berry) hop nose. Has a fairly heavy malt character, some hop but this is quite a sweet beer. (LOL Heller Bock, it's definitely not that but then, what do you call ice kolsch?) What you have is a beer that inverts the normal klsch structure. I am not sure that’s for the best. Shoulder shruggers gone shoulder shrug?

Draught at St. Augustine's, Vancouver; 7.1% ABV
Cloudy blond color. Mellow aroma of cereals and bread. Good body strength, a bit oily; the eis-ing process accentuates the cereals character of this beer, fairly bitter too; some booze; pithy bitterness in the final.
Not bad, but quite unbalanced, and with some weird elements.

Hazy golden coloured body with a nice, three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of crisp apples, pears and fruits with a touch of biscuits and some yeast. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grassy flavour at first with a nice bite of fresh hops, some fruits and a dose of metal and a bit of light malts and herbal elements that show very nicely, and pack a lot of flavours without much bite or pungency, in a good way. Aftertaste shows more of a fruity and grassy flavour, full of pungent hops and ending with a sweet, but quite bitter finish. Overall, a nice and very flavourful beer with a bitter and fruity finish, but good complexity throughout with some subdued pungency, but more of a deep herbal flavour that ends well. I sampled this 20 ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Columbus Circle), New York on 11-June-2017 for US$6,99 sampled at home in Washington on 11-September-2017 on this very special day after purchasing the beer in New York and visiting the Pentagon Memorial today, sixteen years after the incident, just two blocks from home here in Washington.

Aroma has soft fruit notes and some orange. Appearance is a good amount of foamy head and a clear gold body. Flavour is soft sweet hops and nothing else. Medium finish. Not bad, not great.

On tap at Moon Under Water, pours a clear pale yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma is odd, with tropical fruits, citrus hops and lots of phenols. Flavour is along the same lines, with tropical fruits, citrus hops, booze and a strong sweet cereal malt backbone. Fun experiment that is highly drinkable despite the booze. Good stuff.

It’s always a mixed a bag for Beau’s for me. This one starts off a cloudy golden orange, with dense head. Really nice nose of malts and tangerine citrus. The taste has a mix of sweet malt, bitter almost off -flavours, and citrus. Not a great balance. Lots of flavour but not the best. The nose and look pulls up the rating, possibly undeservedly.
