Snow is white, foxes are dangerous, The Fiddler is English, Albino Fox is a danger to society. Drinking a pale ale is as traditional as having a fox on Hampstead Heath. This one stands out from the rest, like an Albino Fox. Smooth taste, light colour and body. A fabulous alcohol content, which gives you the opportunity to enjoy more as time passes by. New recipe since March 19th 2014!

Cask at the brewpub. Aroma is spicy hedgerow hop little tobacco, berry, grain store. Clear golden coloured pour with a thin stodgy white head. Flavour is rough grains, semi sweet, spicy hop matter, brown sugar, veg. Palate is semi sweet, low to moderate cask condition. Slight grain husk. Slightly under fermented maybe.

Cask taster @ The Fiddler Brewpub. Part of their Beer Flight. Shot glass sized. Hazy citrus golden, only one with a head, small white. Nose is sweet dough, citrus, white sugar. Tastes of faint bitter hops, soap, fizzy artificial lemon, dough, plastic, light cabbage. Low carbonation, lightly oily. Light herbal bitter. Not very good but second best of the 7 Fiddler beers tasted.

Cask at the brewpub, 4.5% ABV
Golden color with creamy head. Light and unoffensive beer, with a mild aroma and flavor of cereals, and a quite smooth mouthfeel; in the final there are traces of yeast and it gets a bit metallic; ordinary bitterness.

Very cloudy, grey-ish color. No head. Like watered down oatmeal porridge. Tastes about the same, with horrible cheese notes, and a touch of hops. Mouth is thin, very watery. Didn’t like this at all.

(Cask at The Fiddler, Den Haag, 21 Feb 2013) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with biscuits, toast and hints of diacetyl. Fruity, malty taste with notes of peaches, bread, grass and a gentle citric bitterness in the finish. Light body, with a touch of sweetness. There are hints of diacetyl lurking in the background so I’m not so sure about this one. Drinkable, but hardly impressive.
