Interesting aroma, spicy pepperiness you expect from the style with very savoury herbs in the nose. Lots of rosemary and thyme, with some green tea, green grassy herbs, and lemon zest. Spot on mouth feel, and lively carb for the style. The finish is medium bitter, with the same savoury herbs, but some very green hops also. An interesting take on the style. Pleasant.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Blond color, just hazy, with small persistent head. Dry, spicy, with puckery and vegetable feel, medicinal, dry.
Not pleasant.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a nearly clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very floral, with pronounced lemon and menthol notes. Flavour follows suit - tastes very medicinal and somewhat artificial with the lemon and menthol notes. Wouldn't guess this was gluten free, but only because the adjuncts dominate. Not very pleasant.

Bottle - Herbal, sweet and citrusy and very floral. Clear gold with a gushing white frothy head. Sweet, grassy, herbal with a some light bitterness. Peppery and actually much better than I expected. Light and flavorful with a very nice body.

Bottle: Poured a clear bright golden color with a small foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of light Chinese basil and dry white wine notes is very interesting. Taste is also dominated by Chinese basil notes with Sauvignon notes also identifiable with a slightly weird grainy finish. Body is somewhat full with an oily texture and good carbonation. I get what they are trying to achieve and I love the fact that they are pushing the boundaries but I thought the malt bill was slightly off.

A golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, nice fruity aroma with basil, mint, fruity and intense, beautiful. In mouth, very fruity, citrusy, basil, very nice, a successful gluten free beer. Bottle at Mondial 2014.
