Our traditional Belgian Abbey Style Tripel has a complex fruity aroma with hints of pine and herbs. Medium bodied with notes of subtle citrus and pear, a slight perceived sweetness and almost no bitterness make this a dangerously drinkable beer. Hops: Nugget, Tettnanger

12 oz can poured. Finally getting around to trying the regular version, after going straight for the jalapeno version before. A semi cloudy, oily golden orange pour. Sticky head and lacing. Floral taste up front, cool and gentle palate for a stronger brew. Soft banana like fruit character in the background. A pretty good brew here. Can't believe I like it better than the jalapeno version. Almost never works out that way.

Cloudy copper-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually to an outer ring. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of fruit, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of earthy yeast, fruit and caramel malt. The finish is banana and malt. Decent overall.

Hazy copper with a white head. Yeast and fruit notes with some grain and spice. Medium body with a slightly dry finish. This one doesn’t hold a lot of interest.

Draft - Belgian fruity esters, stone fruit and bubblegum.  Clear gold with a decent beige head. Sweet pale malts and fruity esters. Belgian yeast sweet finish.  Basic, but well done.

Hazy gold - amber beer, tidy white head. Light palate, airy with fine carbonation. Sweet herbal malts even by Tripel standards. Quite perfumed as well with a whisper of dried fruits. Trace of orange. Semi dry finish. Refreshing Tripel.

Deep hazy golden coloured body with a honey glow and a thin off-white head. Aroma of yeast, honey, flowers and a touch of sweetness - very strong. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong yeastie flavour with some wheat, coriander seed, curacao and a thick malty flavour all noticeable with some apricots and apples dancing on the finish and a little complexity at the tail end. Overall, a nice tripel with a lot of sweetness, some pungent flavours and good complexity. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia camping at Shenandoah National Park in Virginia.

Bottle @ ratman’s house, courtesy of foppa78. Moderately cloudy, orange appearance with a creamy, off white head. Yeasty, orange citrusy, a touch bready aroma. A touch tangy, lemon-orange citrusy, bready, belgian yeasty glacier with a little bit of odd bitterness on the finish.

12oz shorty bottle. 9%. Hazy orange tan. Patchy, soapy, quick fading head. Pretty standard American brewpub style Tripel I guess. Nothing really Belgian about it’s mouthfeel, a little thin and watery. Not off, just not very enjoyable. Mellow, peachy, sweet aroma. Shows the alcohol, goes down a little boozy. Sugary orange peel tones. Dull.

Bomber from Total Wine Norfolk, VA, opened 7/29/11. Pours a slight hazy amber color with a large fizzy offwhite head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of stone fruits, candi sugar, bread, faint bit of bubblegum. The taste is bready notes, caramel, sugar, some toastiness, faintly fruity finish. Medium bodied.

12 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of apples, oranges, candied sugar, caramel and yeast. Flavour is quite muted, with yeast and dry green apple upfront, followed by some candied sugar / sweet malt, and a slight alcohol burn on the finish. Low complexity - the flavours sort of die toward the end. Decent but unremarkable tripel.
