This full bodied Irish-style Stout is smooth, dark and creamy with pleasant notes of baked gingerbread on the nose and palate that will make this an instant holiday classic. The use of oatmeal and ginger in the mashtun adds silkiness to the texture and body of this ale. Hints of roasted barley, chocolate and crystal malts combine with a warm lingering finish of ginger and cinnamon that pleasantly round out one of our richest creations to date.

A low tan head over a thick, dark body. Nose is very creamy with sweet chocolate. This is a lovely dessert beer. Ginger, pumpkin, chocolate milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract and hints of nutmeg and hops make for a great fall mix. Very smooth.

Black pour, large beige head. Aroma is strong on egg nog, nutmeg, roasted sweet malts, hints of vanilla, and some cinnamon. Silky mouth feel, regular carb. Finish is sharp, and quite strong on spices. Lots of cinnamon, and some big bready, doughy malts. Semi sweet end, with subtle nutmeg, and vanilla.

22 oz. bottle. Pours black, with a big, frothy, tan head. Great nose of ginger, tobacco, marshmallow, cloves, caramel, and earth. Sweet, with lots of good savory spice. Medium body, chalky, syrupy, and a bit sharp. This is a pretty nice, dessert-like beer. Just the right amount of ginger.

This stout poured a very dark Amber colour with a little soapy head. Scents include flat Coke, root beer, hazelnut, rum balls and cocoa. First swig was lacking in carbonation with flavours of allspice, coffee, rum, cocoa, potpourri and ginger snaps. Finish is slightly burnt with flat Coke lingering.

Almost no head to speak of and a ruby-black body. Aroma of sweet coffee, some gingerbread but not much. Air in the carbonation, not really propelling the aroma. Flavour is a strong Christmas cake kind of flavour, lots of gingerbread sweetness and rye, coffee notes, very seasonal. Okay finish. Huge and rich, could be much better in the appearance department, a sipping beer with lots of flavour.

Bottle: Poured a black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt with some cinnamon notes. Taste is a mix of cinnamon with quite a bit of residual sugar, light lactose and some light dry roasted malt. Body is light with some creamy notes and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Not bad but maybe a tad sweeter then I would have liked this bee to be.

Bottle from the LCBO. Dark cola colour with a small fast fading khaki head. Ginger and cinnamon over the top of chocolate and roast with a light vanilla. Light sweet with a medium light bitterness and a well balanced ginger and cinnamon spice. Medium creamy mouth with soft carbonation and a lingering lightly spicy finish. Much more palatable alternative to Egg Nog for the holidays.

Dark brown colour with cola-like highlights. Big beige frothy head with some nice creamy lacing and good retention. Aromas of mild roasted, chocolate malts with notes of vanilla and spices (soft ginger, maybe cinnamon). The ginger in the flavours are well-blended with the dark malts. Quite a bit of hops in the finish. Soft mouthfeel. Nice dryness. Wow ! This is very well-brewed winter spiced stout. Definitely have to buy more.

Poured from the tap. Near black with beige head. Aroma of oats and cinnamon with a toffee dominant roast malt - gingerbready. The taste of roast malt, cheap chocolate, and gingerbread clash a bit.
