A sweet bitterness can be found in this powerful abbey beer. Grimbergen Optimo Bruno is made of high-quality raw materials and has a concentrated full-bodied taste and warm aftertaste. Brewed since 1988 and originally an Easter beer.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ Drankgigant. Hazy red brown with a small off-white head. Very strong sweet herbal aroma. smelled it from a distance of half a meter. Medium bitter taste with hints of chocolate and molasses along with caramel en dried fruits. Bit of an odd taste actualy. I don’t really like it but can’t really explain why. It all tastes artificial and off-balance

Clear red- brown beer. Suddy off white head. Sourish nose, traces of coca cola. Light airy palate, fairly dry. Sourish malt with a trace of sweet worcester sauce. Orange and unspiced pumpkin in the mid. Light touch of brandy and malt before the dry finish. Not bad.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ ’t Waagstuk – (A) brown/red/amber with an off-white head – (S) very sweet, brown sugar, dark fruits, berries, touch going almost liqueur – (T) very sweet boozy, almost reminds me of liqueur, fermented fruits, liqueur cherries, malts, caramel, candy syrup, brown sugar, dark fruits (raisins), boozy, touch sour finish – (B) touch sticky – definitely meant to be fake “higher” class/ abbey beer where you can feel the strength of its 10% in a slightly tacky way, quite successful for what it is, nice

Flaske 0,33l på Afspanning t’ Waagstuk, Antwerpen 28 Apr 11. Brunrød. Skummet forsvinner nesten helt. Svak surøl-aroma. Smaken svakt syrlig. Et “surøl-light”. Blir litt ensformig - men god.
