Bottle 330ml @ home
Pours clear deep amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, yeast, brown sugar, alcohol and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long warm, brown sugar, caramel and fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Geruch säuerlich-malzig.

the fiorst year i began to drink special beers ( before i knew craftbeer ) i lived at about 5 kilometers from the brewerie of grimbergen . you could say i’m pretty influenced by that. in a positive way . thats why i onley call it 1 of the top 3 most hated ( personaly most hated) breweries i know, and not THE most hated. seriously, the blonde tastes like NOTHING at all . even water has more taste. hate that shit . traumatized me enough to swear to never drink grimbergen again . yet here we are.. after people kept telling me this was way better ( they also said that about the tripel one , you freaks !! ) i have bought myself an ’optimo bruno’ . between the suicide atemmpts, i drank this one ... bottle at home pours very light for the style. red , copperish, brown . beautifull colour ( probably colorants, whatever is positive, cant be natural !! ) small white foam smell is pretty metallic , to be honoust ( HAH ! ) taste is way to much carbo . but this one does have taste... again, pretty metalic small notes of earthyness in the back . but again ( grimbergen ,seriously ) the carbonation undermines EVERYTHING it could taste like . so all i get is metallic, and hints of earthyness. also some restsugar, but not too sweet. yeah .. just like the p^revious ones i’ve had , this has the least taster in the genre of the beer . to freaking much carbo, and not nearly intence enough taste. thats about it, as it was with all the grimbergens before .. am i influenced while rating this ( by my hate towards everything called grimbergen ? ) YES but i would like to take a blind tasting with this, or any other grimbergen any day . just to proof for anyone ( and myself) i might not be that wrong ... well there you go . the phoenix has rise out of its ashes, just like the brewery was restored and restored after several burns .. 2 things : - the phoenix will now fly across the sewer - i’m beginning to think people burnt down the brewerie becouse they could stand beer this awfull anymore .

dark amber colour, brownish head; aroma of dried fruits, some yeast and alcohol; taste is fully dominated by sweetness of brown sugar, dried fruits, malt (lot of malt) and honey - a bit barley wine-like feeling; not bad, but not as complex as a professional quadrupel
