Our flagship beer, Loose Cannon wins people over at first smell. The carefully cultivated interplay of Simcoe, Palisade, and Centennial creates a most fragrant IPA - its nose bursts with notes of grapefruit, herbs, and pine. Bitterness is somewhat subdued by the floral quality that pervades the taste. The color is burnished gold, and the mouthfeel is creamy. A strong malt backbone balances out the triple-hopped beer. Its nickname, Hop3, comes from the brewing process: our brewers hop Loose Cannon in the boil, the hopback, and the fermenter. It won a second place CAMRA award at the 2010 Great British Beer Festival.

Draft at Franklins. Orange-tan color, steady thin head. Hoppy orange citrus aroma. Lots of hop character, very zesty and full of fresh, green hop flavor. Chewy mouthfeel, with some noticeable alcohol. Nice crisp, cool finish. Well done.

Had on tap at Sharx sports pub in RI. Chose this based on cool pirate themed tap. Hoppy and refreshing nice surprise from a place that doesnβt have great selection. I really liked it despite being very hungover.

Hazy amber color. The hop aroma is quite resiny. Good body, with toffee flavor, light residual sweetness; the hop has some resins, pine needles, bitter orange peel, average bitterness, but not biting as wanted. It seems a bit tired, not fresh.
2009-10-18, draught at Pony Bar, New York, 7-4-7-5-15=38
Blond color. Nice aroma of citrusy hops. The body is quite round, toffee flavor, and good hops, citrusy and also a bit resiny. Strong final, resiny, leaner than the alcohol content would suggest. Good hop Ale.

bottle thanks to Treborwhip, pours amber to deep gold with a medium white head. Aroma is full of citrus hop notes and some bready malts. Sweet carmel malt and nuts in the vein of almonds shines with some pleasant grapefruity hop character in a dry finish. This is the definition of drinkable. I could throw these back all night.

Bottle: Poured a orange color with a pillow off white head. Aroma is hoppy, but not overwhelming as one would think with it being enriched by so much hops. Taste is sweet at first, but as it warmed the hops came through with a nice balance, and then blast to the taste buds.

Draught on 28th July at Rattle & Hum, NYC during their East West Challenge festival. Pale yellow with thin, quickly dying white head. An aggressively hoppy taste is lightning-conducted by honey which is craftily controlled both in amount and intensity. Slight cheesiness from the dry hopping and a bitter-ish finish.
