28 April 2019. At Zythos Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke, 77ships & tderoeck! Hazy dark brown, reddish, lasting, small, unstable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of ripe plum, raisin, pear, caramel, milk chocolate, brioche, ‘carré confiture’. Taste is medium malty sweet, quite fruity, prune & raisin supported by brioche & some chocolate, herbal bitter tones of dried tea, a bit toasty with a sourish lemony accent, leading to a dryish, herbal hoppy finish, caramel & red fruit lingering and pointing towards warming madeira-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. A bit one-sided but certainly enjoyable.

28/IV/19 - sample @ Zythos Bierfestival 2019 (Leuven), BB: n/a - (2019-622) Thanks to nathanvc, 77ships & Anke for sharing today's beers!
Little cloudy red brown beer, creamy dense beige head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweetish, caramel, dried fruits, vanilla, bit yeasty. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: bit metallic, some milk chocolate, bitter touch, caramel, dried figs. Aftertaste: bit oxidized, banana, sourish touch. Not bad, but the Porto version is much better!

Draft glass @ Spéciale Belge Taproom. Dark brown going to black, big mocha head; Nose is bit too cloying with some soy sauce, Madeira, syrup de Liège, dark fruit, dark honey & figs. Works way better in taste very sweet thick prune, cake, sugar, madeira, figs, honey, bit muted in back but overall very nice BE dark fruit & Madeira sludge, thick syrup body, pleasant for sure.
