Clear brown with a two-finger tan head. Aroma is roasted pecan, vanilla, and caramel. Taste is the same. Surprisingly not sweet.

12 oz. can from Total Wine. Pours a crystal clear mahogany color with a giant beige head and annoyingly great retention. Good lacing. Brown sugar and maple syrup aroma. The taste follows the nose with a syrupy sweet pecan pie flavor and a sugary finish. This qualifies as too much of a good thing. Over the top sweetness, just like the pie. Maybe pour it on some vanilla ice cream? Medium body. Decent carbonation. Sticky sweet mouthfeel. Not bitter. Tastes more like a brown ale versus a porter. Way too sweet to have more than one.

I'm never fooled by the label, so I doubted this would taste like candied nuts. From $2 bottle it pours dark brown with a maroon tinge. Nose is somewhat sweet with a tad of vanilla. First taste is somewhat coffee, somewhat sweet and somewhat near cloying. No nuts at first but my wife says its in there. Finally in the middle it seems to have some nuts in there but not sure what kind. Smell does have a little pecan, but not fer sher. I'm typically a fan of shiner brews but this one is a little difficult. Yes, it gets more cloying during the session. Not sure what to think, its certainly not refreshing the bit. Some vanilla is starting to peek out. Finishes with notes of pastry, like many of those newer stupid straight up ass pastry brews. Mouth coating.

Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Dark mahogany-brown color with a medium thin beige head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Sparse strings of lace. Malty and nutty aroma. Light to medium body with flavors of caramel malt, pecan and a bit of coffee. The finish is roasty and sweet with a candied pecan aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. A- Sweet, pecans, roasty, brown sugar. A- Brown color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Pecans, brown sugar, slightly roasty, mild cinnamon. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- I mean this works. The enjoyment kind of wears off after the first few sips but certainly not a bad beer. A bit sweet as expected. Lots of pecan and brown sugar. I'd say this is a bit on the novelty side but drinkable for sure.
Pours a clear reddish-black with a thick creme-colored head. Aroma of toffee, pecans, caramel. Taste has sickly sweet toffee, Caramelized malt. Palate is much of the same, unremarkable. Really not good.

Bad from the get-go. Pours much too light for a porter, and the immediate waves of artificial pecan wafting from the pint are blaring sirens. Taste follows suit; a quick jolt of sweet artificial pecan and brown sugar, followed by cocoa, marshmallow, and metal. Hard pass.

Bottle from Half Time in Poughkeepsie, NY. Pours clear dark coppery brown with a huge beige foamy head. Actually had overflow. Aroma suggests pecan pie. Med body. Dry it's not. There is pecan and brown sugar. It's not overly sweet, but not dry for sure. Bitter? Nut bitter. Malt? Yes. It's a bit cloying, but drinkable. Might go good with the appropriate pie.
