12 oz bottle bought at Albertson’s in Hayden, ID. Pours hazy copper with a medium off-white head that collapses into a skiff of foam and some lace. Aroma is bready, caramel, wet river rock--not the hoppy smell I prefer in an IPA. Taste is more APA than IPA, it’s dry and faintly bitter, simple. Bland and forgettable.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep gold bronze with a medium sized off white head. Aromas of light citrus, hops and malt. Taste is much the same. Grapefruit citrus, malt, and just a bit of pine sap. Moderately sweet bitter finish, with a nasty bit of licorice. Not exactly what I was thinking when grabbing an IPA.

12oz twist off cap bottle pours clear copper with gold hues and off white head. The aroma has notes of spicy hops, faint malt sweetened citrus and little else. The taste, even though the age of this bottle is in question, is kind of snappy with a nice level of spicy to earthy to citrusy to floral hops. There’s a decent amount of hop bitterness going on before earthy slightly roasty malts come to the surface. I should probably get a really fresh sample of this at some point as I’m likely to enjoy it.

Bottle. Too foamy really. Beer foamed right out of the glass and spilled over the table. Not much aroma, a little citrus and a little pine,Light bodied, more hoppiness. A pleasant finish

Bottle at Sander’s place, NYC. Pours clear copper with a frothy, white foam head. Nice looking beer. Sweet-smelling aroma, some caramel, brown sugar, grapefruit, other ripe citrus, mild pine. Flavor is alright. Some dirt, pine, citrus, toast, mild caramel. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Slightly sticky, resinous finish, a bit of grapefruit, pine, earth, lime, and some toasty malts and caramel. Not bad.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a cloudy dark orange with lots of big black chunkies...uh oh. Decent head though. Aroma of pine and citrus hops. Taste is very lightly bitter. Pine hops, citrus and a little dishsoap. Some kind of banana in there too. Full bodied with a thick texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, bleh. It’s ok but nothing too special. Funny name though.

12 oz twist off bottle purchased as part of a mix a six at Metcalf Discount on 91st in Overland Park, Kansas. Pour is a hazed golden orange with a two inch off white head. Head falls with loose foam. Aroma is a bit of cooking caramel, toasty malt and just a hint of grassy hops. Taste is burning orange, caramel malt, finishes with a grassiness. Bitterness carries the finish with some additional cooking sugar sweetness. Sort of an overall artificial taste. Palate is medium to light bodied, towards the flat side, chemical mineral grass finish. I’ll give this beer the benefit of the doubt and say it was likely not real fresh.
